It's 9 pm and I'm on my way to Iris.
I don't think I've been more excited for something like this since...I don't know actually. I don't think I've been this excited in a long time and it's embarrassing if I'm completely honest. We're going to sit on probably less than four square metres of sand and try to convince Iris to come into the river with me, I don't know why I'm so excited.
Seeing Iris just makes me so happy, it's as if the negativity that we're surrounded by constantly, it'll just disappears when I'm with her. I've been wanting it all to disappear for years, and all it took was spending time with iris for everything to vanish. When I'm with her she's all I can think about and even when we're not together, she still occupies at least 90% of my thoughts.
Walking down to her studio with a smile on my face, I'd be lying if i said i wasn't trying to hurry so i can spend more time with her. Then I got to her door and I was wishing I had walked a little slower.
"Hi." She opened the door with a smile on her face, a genuine smile.
"Ready?" I asked her, mirroring her grin and holding her arm out.
"I guess so." Iris chuckled.
She had a bag with her like I did, and we walked arm in arm down her street ot that path that goes round the outside of the town, even though the streets were practically empty. Walking this way with her is just second nature at this point, but hopefully when we leave and go to Paris, we'll walk anywhere we like together and nobody can tell us no. I can't wait.
Iris has her hair tied back, it's not like it usually is, but I like it. Normally it's low and at the back of her head, a few of the curls at the front falling around her face, but not today. Her ponytail is higher up and there are no stray hairs, it looks nice.
The moon is really bright tonight and so are the stars, there aren't many clouds either. It's like something out of a book, walking arm in arm with someone as beautiful as iris with the mood shining brightly down on us. Iris makes my life feel like a goddamn poem.
I think I have to tell her how I feel. Surely it can't be scarier than suggesting moving to Paris, I don't understand how I did that with ease but can't even come to terms with my own feelings. Maybe tonight I should do that.
Once we got there, I tossed my bag down and kicked my shoes off. Iris did the same, she was more hesitant than I was though. I guess it's understandable, it's probably been a while since she's done this and she's not exactly had the best treatment from people in her life. She can trust me though, I won't treat her like anybody else has.
"It's pretty here." She said, looking around at the trees and the reflection of the moon on the water. "You were right."
"I'm always right." I responded jokingly.
I had swimming shorts on so just tossed my shirt aside, Iris was wearing a dress she pulled over her head to reveal her swimmer, and it left me in awe a little. I was staring, but only because she's beautiful. Then she kind of shied away and I felt awful for staring, I wasn't staring for any reason other than the fact she's stunning.
"You're beautiful." I told her, reaching for her hand as a smile crept onto her face. "It is the east, and Juliet is the sun."
"Merci Roméo. "Iris chuckled, cheeks flushing a little. "Je pense que c'est mignon quand tu dis des citations de Roméo et Juliette."
Smiling away to myself and still holding her hand, I started walking towards the water with her. "I love when you speak French."
"I know." She smirked back.
