"Why did we leave the farm house?" Sophia complains.
"We've got friends to find, Sophia. We can't just forget about them. They need our help." I tell her, keeping my eyes on the trail.
We have a rope tied around Gia's wrists. She's still not aggressive, but that doesn't mean we don't want her to walk around us with no restraints. We're taking Gia to a nice resting area so that we can put her to rest. "We should have just stayed at the school." AJ adds.
"I know." I respond back.
We came to a nice and grassy clearing with flowers spread across the field. I pull Gia in front of me and untie her. She just groans quietly and stares me down. She's a little bit taller than me so her standing over me like this is a bit creepy. "Looks like this is it, Gia." I say to her, a lump in my throat. Her face lays in almost a sympathetic expression. "Thank you for all your help." I smile at her and let a few tears go. I position myself to shoot her in her head. Clem pushes the kids behind her back and backs up a bit, AJ still trying to peek behind Clem and watch. I cock the gun back and lean my head backwards. I swallow and breathe in through my nose. "I wish we could've known more." As I was about to pull the trigger, a knife was at my neck. "Don't move, I don't want to have to do this." a voice speaks next to me. It was a young, musky female voice. I look over at Clem. Her face was in shock. "Violet?" Violet? Why does she have a knife to my throat?! "Don't say my name. It hurts." I squint my eyes. "It hurts to say your name? What are you, the antichrist?" I joke. "No! It hurts to hear you guys use my name because you're my friends, but, I have to hurt you." "Hurt us?!" I exclaim. "Ah, Miss Clementine. How long has it been, what, eleven or twelve years?" I furrow my eyebrows together. "How's Lee?" The look on Clem's face looks shocked. "No, it can't be!" she shouts. I look back at the woman that was talking to Clem. "You didn't answer my question, Clementine. How. Is. Lee?" Clem shakes her head, a scowl on her face. "Don't bring up his name, Lily." "Why not?" Clem squints at her. "I had to put him down." Clem finally responds. Lily smiles. "Wow, seems the old man finally decided to kick the bucket, huh? When was this?" "When I was still nine, Lily." Lily chuckles. "Oh, man, such a responsibility for a little girl, don't ya think?" Lily sits down on the grass. "Remember when Kenny killed my dad?" "I recall." "Imagine my anguish. Nothing compares to watching a bearded hillbilly smash your father's face in with a fucking salt lick!" She chuckles and shakes her head. "He was my real dad." Clem scowled. "We've both lost someone dear to us, but I just don't understand how undermining my experience validates yours anymore than mine." Lily gets up and walks towards Clem. "NO! GET AWAY FROM HER!" Violet grabs onto me, still holding the knife up to my neck. "Please, (Y/n), she'll kill us all." Lily looks at me. "Mouthy much?" She gives Violet a look and Violet nods. "I'm so sorry, (Y/n)." Violet stabs my side. I scream out in agony, holding my side. Blood is rushing out, and I give Lily a nasty look. "WHAT DO YOU WANT ANYWAY?!" I question, glaring her in the eyes. "I don't want anything, I need something." I shake my head. "Then what do you need?" Lily looks back at Clem. "I need new recruits. I'm building the strongest and biggest army, and I think you're a great fit. I just need to talk to Marlin." "Marlin's dead. I killed him." AJ speaks out. Lily looks at him stunned. "This little pipsqueak killed Marlin? You look like you could barely hold a gun." "I can kill you in a blink of an eye." AJ forms a gun with his right hand, closes his left eye and makes a handgun motion and noise. "Bang. Bullseye. Right between your eyes." AJ puts his arm down. "Like I did to Marlin." Lily stares at him, stunned. She then turns to Violet and points at AJ. "I want him. Grab him. The rest you can kill." "But-" "No buts. Do it. I'll meet you back at the ship. Do not take too long." Lily slowly walks away, into the dark forest green treeline. I look at Violet with pleading eyes. "Please, Violet, don't do this!" I press my hands together and crawl to my knees. "Violet, what the fuck happened?!" Clem shouted at her. Violet sighed and looked off to the side. "Lily found our group at the fortress. She said she knew one of us. Led us to her apartment but then each one of us was knocked out. Next thing we know, we wake up in jail cells on a boat. We tried to alert you on the walkie talkie, but one of Lily's henchmen overheard and destroyed our walkie talkie." My eyes lit up. "That's why Louis kept cutting out!" Violet shrugged her shoulders. "Yes, that's why." I look at Clem. "Where are the others? Are they okay?!" Violet nods and says, "Yes, and they're in training as we speak." "We should make a plan." Clem brings up. Violet nods. "I'm supposed to kill you guys, but I'm not going to. You're our last hope to getting the fuck out of there. You're also family." I smile at her. "I'll kill a couple of walkers and leave them out here in the field and make it seem like your bodies were left here. You guys try to find a way to sneak inside the ship. Kill the guards, take Lily down, blow the ship the fuck up, and get the fuck out." I nod and look at Clem one more time. "We'll get through this, baby, and once we do, we can do what we want." Clem and I sneak off into the treeline. "I'll keep an eye on your little girl for you, (Y/n)!" Violet adds on. "Thank you, Violet!"
