I walk downstairs and find Clementine sitting in one of the chairs in the kitchen.
She looks at me and smiles.
"Didn't think you were going to wake up." vocalized Clem. I giggled slightly, brushing my cheek with my thumb.
"I was exhausted from last night." I replied.
She blushed and looked at her hands resting on the table.
"Do you think we should stay here another night or should we start heading for the school?"
"Whatever you feel like doing. I'm personally still kind of tired, but it's still completely up to you."
I plopped right next to Clementine.
She stared at the table for a minute, not making a sound.
She took a deep breath in and pushed her hair behind her ear.
"Did last night make you uncomfortable?" she questioned, trying to meet my gaze.
I stared at her, concerned.
"What? No, no, last night was amazing," I began, "although, we did just do it out of nowhere. Why, were you uncomfortable?"
She rolled back her shoulders.
"No! It's just that you kept making expressions like I was forcing you into doing that stuff with me. Like you didn't have a choice."
"Those expressions were probably because I was confused if I was doing it right." I giggled after I said that.
She giggled back until we heard someone enter through the back door.
We quickly got to our feet and slowly walked to the back door, our blades drawn.
It was a woman with light brown hair tied into a bun, curly tendrils hanging from her ears.
She had dark brown eyes and caramel colored skin. Her nose was sprinkled with little light brown freckles. She had thin lips and sleepy looking eyes.
She looked up at us and grinned.
Well, should I say, she grinned at me.
"Well if that ain't (y/n) (l/n)."
She set down her rifle and axe, walking over to me with open arms.
"How do you know my name?" I ask
"The name's Gia, I used to know your sister, Malinda."
I looked over at Clem, my surprised expression dropping.
Clem looked at Gia and spoke out,
"Malinda was caught in a group of walkers and unfortunately..."
Gia looked at Clem in shock, receiving the memo.
"How did you know Malinda?" I asked, straightening out my shoulders and quickly picking up my mood.

Malinda's death was tragic, but I don't want to mope around thinking about she died a painful death, I'd rather walk around knowing that she died a heroic one.
If she wasn't there to save Sophia, Sophia would have been the one who died.

Gia looked at me and smiled.
"I met Malinda at one of the camps down South."
She sat down on the floor in front of the door.
"She was the one hunting and bringing in food for the people and I was the cook."
Gia glances at the wall separating the kitchen and the living room, and chuckles a bit.
"She would make jokes to me about random things and I would laugh at all of them. She was my light in this dark tunnel."
I smile slightly and sit down in front of her.
"I knew you were her sister because she would always carry a picture of you around in her pocket. She told me that she was looking for you."

At this point, I'm grinning as wide as the Grinch.
"She told me she wasn't actually related to you. That she was adopted."
I nod slightly and perk up.
"Yeah, yeah, that's true."
I turned to Clem and hint at the fight I had with Malinda in Winston.
"Remember when Malinda and I had that big fight in Winston?"
Clem nods.
"Yeah, didn't you say you were blood-related?"
I nod forward to her and switch my sitting position into a more comfortable one.
"Well, when Malinda and I were little kids, we were best friends," I began, "we wanted to be real sisters so bad that we cut our thumbs and mixed our blood. It's bad to do that, I know, but now that I think about it, we're mixed up in somebody's blood right now, makes the thumb thing seem normal at least."
I felt a tear form at the corner of my eye.
"Even 'till now, the thumb thing stuck with us. I still consider us blood-related."

I felt remorse thinking back to the fight.
I do care that she was taken by a pack of walkers.
I do care if she died.
And she did.
And it's all my fault.

"That's a beautiful thing." Gia said.
I nodded and smiled.
"Yeah it is."
"Also, I should let you know that Malinda and I were lovers."

My jaw dropped when I heard that.
"You're kidding!" I shouted, covering my mouth.
"Got something against gay lovers?"
I shook my head and laughed in disbelief.
"No, no, Clementine and I are a thing. I just never would have thought that Malinda liked girls."
"She did, and were you two the ones making all that commotion last night?"
I stared at Clem.
"Um...no?" I answered back, nervous.
"We were just sleeping." Clementine added on.
Gia nodded her head sarcastically and sucked air through her teeth.
"Yeah because sleeping has a lot of moaning. Thought so."
Gia gave me a side look and smiled.
"Malinda and I have done intimate stuff together, so don't feel shame."
I let my jaw drop again.
"Malinda wasn't a virgin?!"
Gia smirked and said, "Oh, yeah."
She sighed and crossed her legs.
"I still remember lacing my fingers in her long, curly, blonde hair. I loved the way her brown eyes shined with life, her tan skin glowing with sun. Her little freckles sprinkled on her nose, I would always count them while she slept. I loved kissing those gorgeous round, red lips. She was immaculate, she was the blood in my veins, the vibration of my voice, and the catch light in my eye."

After Gia's sappy speech about Malinda, I glanced at Clementine and gave her a heartfelt smile.
She smiled back and gripped my hand.

Gia's arrival to the farmhouse made me realize how much of a simp I have been for Clementine, I just wonder if Clementine felt the same.
Last night spoke differently, though.
Last night, she told me how she felt without even needing to speak words.
I love her, and maybe I should tell her that.
Because if I don't do that soon, I might lose her without her knowing that like I lost Malinda.
