We decided to stay at the farmhouse another night.

For dinner, Gia had went out to hunt for anything that had blood. We were all starving.

I sat at the table with Clementine and the kids, waiting for Gia to return with food. Clem and I were chatting.

"We're going to have to find them eventually. They could be in some deep shit right now." I said.
Clem nodded her head and kept glancing out the broken windows.

"What's wrong, Clem?"
She sighed and looked me in the eyes.
"I'm just wondering when Gia will be back. I'm starving."
"She has been out for a while."

We started to worry until we heard the door open and close.
Gia had two rabbits in her hand.
She chucks them down onto the ground and lays her arm upon the table.
"Grab me that axe, will you?"
"Gia, what's going on?!" I scream out in terror.
"Look, look, we don't have that much time, (y/n), just grab me the axe."
I grab the axe and stare at Gia in the eyes.
"Chop it off."
"What?!" Clem and I both shout out in complete trauma.
Sophia started to cry in absolute fear and dread as the tension and the anticipated built up for Gia's arm to be severed.
"AJ, take Sophia up to your room, she is too scared to watch." Clementine ordered.
"But I want to watch!"
"I SAID NOW!"
My eyes widened at how angry Clem got.
AJ grabs Sophia's arm and runs upstairs.

Gia shows us where to cut at.
She wants it under her palm, right across the wrist.
Gia had a bite mark between her pointer and her thumb.

I hold the axe above my head, staring at Gia in the eyes.
She is breathing heavily.
She gives me a saddened look.
I take a deep breath in and swung the axe down on her wrist.
In one swift motion of the axe, her hand comes clean off.
Blood starts to coat the table, her hand laying palm up on the table.
She starts to wail out in pain, and orders Clementine to wrap her arm up in a bandage.

"Thank you, guys. I don't know what would have happened if the bite spread."  Gia said.

"Simple, we'd have to kill you or ditch you, both hard choices." I responded.

"Well, cutting off my hand was another hard choice, but in means of survival, it was the most reasonable."

I stared at Gia in awe, amazed by how brave she was about losing her hand.

"You sure are as tough as nails, Gia." I complimented.

"Thank you, (y/n)." She sat down in one of the chairs, and began, "I only learned from the best," she brushed her hair behind her ear, "I used to be a pussy before I met Malinda."

I bit my lip and sighed. Clementine grabbed my shoulder and kissed me on the cheek.
"It's okay, (y/n). You're allowed to mourn."
I nodded at her.

"While I was out there, I came across a walkie-talkie." Gia said, holding up a walkie-talkie.

I widened my eyes.
"That can't be theirs, can it?" I asked Clem.

She looked at me, worried.
"It could be, maybe they escaped and made their way back to the school."

I examined the walkie-talkie.
"Let's go to the school after supper, just me and you, Clem. We can leave Gia here to heal and watch the kids."  I turn to Gia. "Are you good with staying here, tonight?" She smiled.

"All good, boss."

"Let's get cooking." I called out, tossing Gia's severed hand outside.
