Chapter 13

Alas-singko na ng umaga   nang magising si Lei.  She immediately turned her head to her side upon remembering what had happened last night.  She smiled when her eyes set on Zach.  He was still in a deep sleep.  

                Her hands caressed the smooth face of the man who was very dear to her.  Her fingers combed gently through his hair. Saglit niyang pinagsawa ang kanyang mga mata sa kaguwapuhan nito.

                She smiled. Her eyes were glowing with love. 

                "Zach," she murmured softly.  "I - I love you..." She bit her lips, afraid that he might hear her.

Nang masigurong tulog na tulog pa rin ito ay dahan-dahan niyang inalis ang bisig nito na nakapatong sa kanyang tiyan.

                Nang makabangon ay dali-dali siyang nagbihis.  She had to go.  No one else in this resort should know that she slept with him in his room or else, they would become the talk of the town here. 

                After wearing her stiletto and tying her uncombed hair,  she went out of the suite. She heaved a sigh of relief when she realized that it was still  early.  The guests were still sleeping and perhaps, there were also  few people at the lobby and at the front desk. 

When she reached the first floor, she passed by the function hall where the masquerade party was held last night.    Tahimik at maayos na ito.  Walang palatandaan ng kasiyahang namayani rito ilang oras lang ang nakakaraan.  Kungsabagay, hindi naman niya alam kung ano ba talaga ang naging kaganapan dito kagabi dahil mas pinili niyang makasama ang lalaking iniibig, si Zach.

                She was thankful to see that the two night shift front desk clerks were busy with paper works.  If she would not create a noise, they would not notice her until she  left. 

She was near the turnstile when a woman's voice spoke at her back.

                "Oh, look who's here, the wench!"

                When she turned her head, she saw Naomi, standing few meters away from her.  Nakahalukipkip ito, nanunuri ang mga matang nakatingin sa kanya. 

                "So, how's the night with my brother of a bastard?" she smirked.  "For sure, you enjoyed it just like what his other women had."

                She was stunned.  What was this woman  doing here early this morning?  Binabantayan ba siya nito?

                "Do you honestly believe that  because Zach brought you to his bed, you were already given a license to enter to his life and to our family?"    sarkastiko ang pagkakangiti nito.

                "A-ano'ng ibig mong sabihin?" sa wakas ay may tinig na lumabas sa bibig niya.  This woman was humiliating her.  And she, Azalea Alvez was accused of  being a whore.  This was something her pride and vanity couldn't swallow. 

                "Huwag ka nang magmaang-maangan pa. Wala ka ring pagkakaiba sa mga babaeng nagkakandarapa para maikama ni Zach. You're beautiful, but there are a lot more beautiful women than you. Oh, yes, I almost forgot, you're  smart, too.  But that's not enough for you to set aside your principles and  personal integrity in exchange of a  'one night stand'.

                One night stand? No. Never. She didn't lie on Zach's bed in just 'one night stand'.  She slept with him with a fervent hope that it won't be the last.  That he would take her forever.  That he would love her for the rest of his life.
