Camilo didn't answer. He just sat there and watched Y/N take her shopping basket from the end of the aisle.

Y/N put the basket upside down on the floor, gently placing Camilo's foot on top of it.

"Your foot needs to be elevated while I clean up here a bit", she said, looking at the mess Camilo made. Camilo just nodded.

Y/N sighed. She got up and started folding the squished boxes before putting them in a neat pile in the corner.

She then went to the curtain hanging haphazardly on the corner. She pulled on the cloth, making it fall to the ground to reveal... a ladder...

There's been a ladder this whole time and Camilo didn't notice.

Idiota, Camilo.

Y/N inhaled sharply as she stared at the ladder. She placed her hands on her hips and looked at Camilo with raised eyebrows. Camilo only gave her an awkward grimace.

"What is this Camilo?", She said, ,gesturing to the ladder behind her.

"A ladder", Camilo answered stupidly.

"Weren't you looking for this to get to the top shelf?"

"Yes", Camilo pressed his lips into a tight line.

"But then you used the empty boxes"

"Yeah", Camilo said sheepishly. Y/N closed her eyes and sighed.

"You're an idiot", Y/N said.

"I know"

"And because of that, now you're injured"

"I know that", Camilo frowned, picking at the frays of the pile he sat on.

"And what would've happened if I wasn't here to splint your ankle?"

"I would... still be on the ground... probably crying until someone finds me", Camilo said, avoiding Y/N's exasperated glare. She just smacked her lips and pulled the ladder where she needed it to be. She then took the fabric rolls and took off her bakya. She hugged the rolls to herself as she tried to climb the ladder.

The ladder wobbled as Y/N kept shifting her weight to try and balance herself and the rolls she was carrying. Her skirt kept getting in the way as she climbed the steps. She was clearly struggling and Camilo wanted nothing more than to at least hold the ladder steady for her.

But because of his stupidity, he was incapacitated and all he could do to help was offer moral support.

"You know you could just take them one by one-"

"Did I ask for your advice?", Y/N spat, not looking at him as she continued to wobble her way to he top. Camilo frowned.

"That's just mean, Y/N. I'm only trying to help",he said, looking up at the struggling lady.

"I won't accept help from people who don't ask for help", She said.

"That doesn't even make any sense", Camilo's frowned deepened.

"Does it make sense to struggle on your own when your best friend could clearly help you?", She asked angrily.

"Wow. Say that to yourself, miss independent", Camilo also replied angrily.

Y/N huffed and dropped all the fabric roles to the ground. She then stomped her way down the ladder, looked Camilo in the eye and picked just one roll of fabric.

She then expertly climbed up the ladder, not even looking away from him, before shoving the roll of fabric into the top shelf.

She opened her arms in a dramatic flourish. "Happy?", She asked, scowling at him from the top of the ladder.

"Much, thank you", Camilo scowled back.

He continued to watch as Y/N angrily placed all the extra fabric rolls into the top shelf.

She kept the frown on her face even as she finished. She was now standing in front of Camilo with her arms crossed.

"You look like an angry mother", Camilo deadpanned. Y/N scoffed.

"I'm not a mother, but I certainly am angry", Y/N said, tapping her bare foot on the floor.

"Why?", Camilo crossed his arms.

"Because you're an idiot", Y/N said.

"You already said that", Camilo scowled up at her.

"Yeah, I know, and I'm gonna say it again. You're an idiot for not asking for help, especially from your best friend"

"Is that all I am to you? An idiot?", Camilo asked in offense.

"That's not what I said", Y/N frowned deeper.

"No, but it's all your saying over and over right now, though", Camilo said sarcastically. Y/N continued to stare angrily into his eyes and Camilo was not backing down.

The more the seconds ticked by, the more Camilo saw the mixture of emotions in Y/N's beautiful, angry eyes. She wasn't just mad at him. She was also worried.

"Milo, you're lucky it's just your ankle that got twisted", Y/N said condescendingly. Camilo didn't reply.

"It could've been your neck, you could've broken your spine", she said. Her voice was softer this time. Camilo still didn't answer. He just looked down and fidgeted with his ruana.

"Why didn't you ask for help?", Y/N asked. Camilo still fidgeted with his ruana.

"Because...", he avoided her gaze. Y/N waited for him to continue.

"... Because I'm the one who's supposed to help", he said, still not looking at Y/N.

He heard Y/N sigh as she sat down on beside him.

"That doesn't mean you're not allowed to ask for help", she said, all her anger gone from her voice. Camilo pursed his lips and nodded. They sat there in silence. Camilo could feel the frown on Y/N's face even though he wasn't looking at her.

"Milo?", Y/N said, she was no longer angry.

"Yeah?", Camilo looked at her and saw the sad and worried expression on her face.

"You know you can ask me for help right?", She asked. Camilo stared into those worried eyes and nodded.

"And you know you can always count on me like I know I can always count on you, right?", She asked, her voice rising in her worry. She didn't seem to notice that she was holding on to Camilo's arm like she was losing him.

Camilo couldn't help but smile at her concern for him.

"Yieee, que linda mi mariposa, dios te bendiga siempre", Camilo said, squishing Y/N's cheeks while the concern on her face was replaced by confused outrage.

"What?- Milo, stop that!", she whined, trying to swat Camilo's hands away.

"I can't! You're too cute, Mariposita", Camilo cooed and laughed at her, while kept trying to swat him away, but at the same time not wanting to shove him to harshly or she'll hurt his foot.

"Ayaaaa, Posa, are you scared to lose me? Scared to lose your muy guapo Cameleon? Who's a caring Mariposa? You are!",

Y/N let out noise that sounded like a disgusted whine and an amused giggle at the same time. "What the hell, Camilo? I'm not a dog!", She said, finally pushing him away, an amused grin on her face.

Camilo was about to tease her again but the chimes to the store door clinked followed by the sound of female laughter and ecstatic talking.
