I can and I will

     Your POV
A few weeks went by and it was finally time for the Hot Springs on Ice competition. I would be there opening show. Victor had me skating to " Into the Arctic" a really dramatic song( yes this is an actual song, go look it up, I like it) Nothing about the routine was very challenging, I was getting all my jumps, but I was worried about costumes.
My old costumes wouldn't fit me, I was skinner back then. I did all I possibly could before the competition to fit into them, but it was no luck. It was the day before the competition when Victor called me.
"Yes?" I picked up.
"Hey Y/n!" he greeted.
"I was wondering what you're planning to wear tomorrow." he stated.
"Um I haven't really picked anything out yet." I spoke with honesty.
"You could always where one of mine, I had them shipped over." he tried to help.
"No it's ok, I'm sure I'll find something to wear." I then hung up and continued looking through my closet of old costumes.
Then it hit me. I only really started this shit when I was ten. My old costumes from before could still fit. I climbed farther back into the closet, and grabbed a handful of them I used when I was 8 or 9. I tried the first one on, I didn't like how it fit. The second was a no go either, but the third was.

I think it would look like this.
It fit pretty well. I decided on a half up half down look for my hair( if ur bald, have short hair, or a type of hair texture in a certain style just wear it normally) I felt my white skates would go best with the look.

Competition Day
I must have been so anxious to get here, I forgot my outfit. I realized when Victor asked me what I was planning on wearing.
"I kinda forgot it at home." I explained. He frowned, I didn't like when he frowned.
"I'll go get it." I sighed while putting my skates down.
"No, you should start warming up. I'll go get it." Victor insisted.
"Fine, it's the blue one on sofa." I tossed him my key and started stretching as I saw him jog out the door.
Victor's POV
I didn't mind getting silly Y/n's stuff. How do you forget your costume though?
As I opened her door, I noticed the sparkly blue dress sitting on the couch. Then curiosity got the best of me. I moved over to the cabinet she put those pills in and opened it. Inside where loads of pills and other stuff, but I recognized the bottle.
"Dinitrophenol." I read. I wasn't a pro about it, but I've heard it's supposed to help with weight loss. It's a pill a lot of people with eating disorders seek after, but it was banned. I heard it can be really bad for you too. I then looked through what else the  cabinet held . Diuretics, Hydroxycut, Orlistat, Glucomannan, CLA, it was all here. Weight loss pills littered the cabinet. Majority of them where approved, but not safe for children. What was she going through? Quickly I pocketed the Dinitrophenol, closed the cabinet, grabbed her outfit, and left. The pills weighed heavily on my mind. Was she ok? Eating disorders aren't exactly uncommon with figure skating. It wouldn't be super unlikely to have one, she looked the part. When I got back I handed her the costume. I didn't mention the pills.
Timeskip
She looked amazing in her outfit. I'm not saying that in the creepy way.
"You look so cute!" I remarked. I noticed Yurio blushing. They had gotten quite close over the past few weeks. About the same age too. Maybe someone could finally tame that kitten.

Then Y/n's face went pale white. She was looking at us, or rather behind us. I turned to see two strangers.
"Sorry, public isn't allowed back here." Yuri informed.
"Go away." Yurio spat.
"Now be nice." I lectured.
"Who are you?" I questioned them.
They asked," Y/n really hasn't told you about us, her own parents?"
"Oh hello! Afraid she hasn't." I welcome them with a hug.
"She's one for secrets, didn't even tell us about this thing until last night! Luckily we were able to catch a last minute flight." the mother said.
"We'd like a word with our daughter." her father interrupted. They took her to the room next door where I heard arguing. Something about not being ready yet and needing time to heal. I heard Y/n scream how she was ready. I looked at the clock in the room. It was five minutes until we needed to start, so I knocked on the door.
"We start in five minutes."  I shared. Y/n's father opened the door.
"I'm afraid she won't be starting." he told.
"I will be performing, I can and I will." Y/n stormed out of the room.
Yurio's POV
I'm not sure exactly what happened in there. There was screaming and yelling, then Y/n walked out. She looked furious. I decided to follow her as she stormed out to the arena.
"Your parents are jerks." I comforted.
"I know they are doing this out of love, but I think I need to come back to competitive ice skating. They don't understand I'm ready." she complained as she crossed her arms.
"Why'd you leave in the first place?" I questioned.
She looked down and sighed. She seemed a bit hesitant trying to decide what to say," Eating disorders, one day I just couldn't do it anymore." I can't say I was too surprised, she was skin and bones. I was hurt to see she had gone through all of that though. I wasn't sure exactly what to do next, so I just opened up my arms. She quickly fell into them, crying softly.
Time went by slowly as she stayed in my arms, but I didn't mind. The crowd could see us, but Y/n was all that mattered to me in the moment. I only let go when I felt her pushing back.
"We should get started." Victor looked at his watch.
"Alright." Y/n sighed. She look one last sip of water before stepping out onto the ice.
I noticed what the announcers were saying about her. I heard something about her being nicknamed the " Ice Queen" and how she mysteriously quit over a year ago. I guess the public wasn't informed on why she left.
"Is this her big come back to skating?" one announcer asked. Just then the music started.
Her arms rises and fell like a bird.
I could tell why her name was the "Ice Queen" almost immediately. She captivated you, I couldn't look away. Her motions were crisp as snow. She was the ruler of the ice in those moments. She nailed every jump in the routine, made it look easy. Then the song came to an end. She looked up at the ceiling as her arms rested by her sides. After a few moments, she skated off the ice. Ear splitting cheers of the crowd was all I heard.I was taken aback when she grabbed me into a hug.
"Good luck." she whispered into my ear. Before I could say anything she nudged me onto the ice.
Time skip
I stormed out of the building.
"Wait,"Y/n hollered from the entrance," you aren't going to see the results?"
"I don't need to, I already know I lost." I grumbled. How could I have let such a wimp beat me.
"I'm going back to Russia, but I will beat Yuri soon and show Victor he made a mistake."I told her. She seemed shocked.
"Promise you'll beat Yuri next time." she stuck out her pinky.
"What do you want me to do with it?" I questioned looking at her pinky.
"It's something we do in my home country. It means you can't break the promise. So stick out your pinky!" she instructed.
That sounded dumb," No, that's dumb."I replied. She took my hand, extended my pinky, and took it with hers.
