Ice Queen

First test

A/n
Just a heads up, men's and women's are scored differently(I think) Usually women's scores are below men's. If you see this in the fanfic, please know that you're a good skater and the scores you get are good.

Your POV
Before China, Yuri and I would have prove we were worthy with a block test. The women's would be a couple hours before men's. This worked out well, so Victor could attend both of our competitions.
Victor decided I would preform "Into the Arctic" again. I wore the same outfit I did for the opening show.
2nd POV
You slid into the snug blue dress and zipped a large jacket over you. You carried you skates out and waited with Victor outside.
There were four of you all together who had to compete. Most were a little older than you, but did not threaten you. You had to compete because you took a break, not because you were as bad as them.
When it was time to select numbers, you were up first.
You moved your hand along the numbers in the hat. You picked one near the bottom. It read," 2" , meaning you would go second.
      Before you knew it, the time to warm up arrived.
"I want you to take it easy. Just get warmed up a little." advised Victor.
"Fine." you replied why tying on the white skates. The ice skates had small snowflakes painted on the sides and toe. You painted them on the week before. They were supposed advance the arctic part of "Into the Arctic"
        While the other skaters tried elaborate jumps, you worked on the basics.
       You could tell those who didn't know of your power had already started underestimating you.
        There was nothing to be afraid of for the performance. You had all the jumps down, and you were trying harder to tell a story of the music after Victor brought it up.
       After warmup finished, Victor brought you a granola bar. You didn't even refuse, as it would have just made him frown.
         It would be about half and hour till your performance so you decided to check your phone.
       "You have something today right?" Yurio questioned.
"Yeah, in 30 mins. Whatcha up to?"  you texted back.
He responded quickly," Just more training."
     The two of you texted for the next half hour till Victor called you from your spot, telling you it was time.
      As you said your good byes to Yurio, he wished you luck. This made your stomach hurt again, but you were starting to get used to it.
   "You'll do great!" Victor and Yuri assured you.
       The sound of the announcer introducing you blared through the speakers as you climbed onto the ice.
    "FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER A YEAR, Y/N L/N HAS MADE A COMEBACK TO COMPETITIVE SKATING.
          SHE SAYS THAT THIS IS FOR ALL HER ADORING FANS WHO CONTINUED TO SUPPORT HER THROUGH HER ROUGH TIMES."
Your pov
       I definitely did not say that. Victor must have sent that in.
I took my spot in the middle of the ice. I've always been told not to look at the audience growing up, but I spotted Yuri's family with a sign for me.
When the music started, I knew what to do. The first two measure of the song was a clarinet, my arms moved. I only start skating when the flutes begin. The music soared and so did I as I jumped. My jumps were decent, but I over rotated on one.
Before the the end of the song you there's a dramatic bit when I skate around the rink in circles. I do turns, and skate backward as it nears the end. Then I meet to the middle of the ice, and rest my arms to my side, showing,
"The difficult journey is over!"
When I skated out of the rink, they both compliment me.
"You did well!"
Just then I heard over the intercom," Y/n L/n scored an 88.67 on her short program."
2nd pov
You smiled, it wasn't your personal best, or close at all. You had set a few records placing in the hundreds before, but you always did so well with a strategy. Convince your competition you aren't as well at the start, do well enough to get by. They're more likely to let their guard down later on if they don't think you're a threat.
You had informed Victor of this. Although he wasn't completely for your method, he did not stop it. You had intentionally made a few mistakes through the piece, which angered Victor to see, but he got past it.
Tomorrow you would skate your free program, but in the meantime you would watch Yuri perform.
