Adam chugged his champagne as soon as I poured the cup so I would have an excuse to walk back over to him. I happily obliged, smiling so wide I thought someone was going to ask me if I had gone crazy. Every time I went over to him, he brushed either a part of my hand or ass. Once, he point-blank grabbed my hand. I had to fight it out of his grasp before anyone, especially Chloe, saw.

For most of the night, Amanda and I stood at the corner of the room, watching the long tables and its inhabitants to see if they needed anything. It was mainly alcohol. I stood where I could see Adam, and he took advantage of the view. Several times throughout the night, we caught each other's eyes and just stared and smiled. Not caring about anyone else. Not even caring if someone noticed us.

Once dessert was served, several people volunteered to toast the happy future bride and extremely happy for entirely different reasons, groom.

Megan was first rambling on about her life in Australia for most of her speech and finally welcoming Chloe into the family. Then some lady with too much botox that I didn't know started speaking about how great Chloe was. Once she welcomed Adam into the family, I knew this was her mother. Adam raised his glass as Chloe's mother droned on about how great Adam and Chloe were together.

Finally, Chloe got up and firstly thanked Tash and Tosh, raising her glass towards Natasha and Anna, sitting next to her. Chloe then turned her raised glass towards Amanda and me for our outstanding service today. "You 2 ladies saved the night!" She thanked us. Adam raised his glass and winked at me. My smile widened, my cheeks now in pain.

Then Adam was encouraged to speak by almost everyone at the table. Finally, he reluctantly got up, letting out a long sigh.

"Not going to lie, I am a bit drunk right now." He started, and the crowd gave him a low giggle. "Thank you all for coming out tonight and especially to Natasha, Anna, and the team. You ladies really know how to throw a party. And that one over there..." he directly pointed at me. "She really knows how to pour a drink." The table cheered. I went red. Please don't say anything else. "Now to my future bride. I would like to say, there is still time, run!" everyone laughed, he did not. He let out another big sigh and continued, "Thank you all for coming tonight, but mainly you," again, he looked right at me. "Thank you..." He stopped talking just so he could mouth another thank you, then continued with, "for making sure my father's money and alcohol didn't go to waste." With that, he stumbled back down onto his seat.

As the guest began filtering out, Amanda and I got to cleaning the leftover plates and glasses. Unfortunately, half the party favors were left half-eaten on the tables, melting onto the table cloths adding to our clean-up time.

Adam and Chloe lingered around to talk to Natasha. He sounded very drunk as he spoke, slurring his words. I had to glance over when I heard him exclaim fuck as he almost tripped over one of the chairs.

"I am okay," he said to a concerned Chloe. "I am okay," he said again, facing me.

"It's best if I get him home." Chloe giggled, "He had a really good night."

I guess a hotel was out of the question tonight. He would be going home with his fiance.

"No, umm... since Todd couldn't make it today, I am going to go meet up with him in a bit." He said. "I am fine. I'll get a cab. Don't worry about me."

"Really, he didn't mention anything about that to me," Natasha said suspiciously.

"He just texted me...." Adam said. "Let me get you, girls, a cab...Diya." He yelled my name.

"Yes, sir..." I instinctively said.

"God, I really hate when you call me that!" Adam sighed, "you know I grew up with her. I've known her since I could remember. Went to school together, and now she is calling me sir." He said to Natasha. "Can you help them get a cab, then come back in here." He instructed.
