Chapter 23

Danni's P.O.V
I was putting my shoes on to leave for work. "Promise you'll ring me first when you find out the gender" I said to Jade as I put on my other shoe. "I promise" Jade laughed.

Jade was six months into her pregnancy and she was starting to get a bump. "Call me if you need anything, I'm off now" I said, giving her a hug. "See you later" she smiled. I walked into the kitchen to grab my keys and name tag. "Talk to you later babe, I'm going to work now" I smiled, kissing Casey.

After about twenty minutes of singing to Room 94 and 5SOS I arrived at work. "Morning Beth" I smiled as I grabbed my apron and put my name tag on. "Morning Danni" she smiled, talking a sup of her coffee

I worked in a cute little ice cream parlour twenty minutes from the house. I used to come here everyday when I was younger so I know the owners well which made it easier to get the job. The couple that run the ice cream parlour are Irish which is really cool.

"Who's turn is it on the register?" Beth asked. "Me, you're cleaning the tables today" I said, checking the roster. If it's busy, Maisy said she'll come in to help. I was talking to her before I left" I said walking out of the staff room.

A few hours later I got a text off Jade which was probably her telling me the gender of the baby. It was a slow day so Betty wouldn't mind if I checked my phone.

It's a girl and a boy, we're having twins😁
It read. "Danni, is that a phone in your hand I see" Betty teased. "Yeah sorry, my friend just text me. She's out of her scan so she was just telling me how it went" I smiled. "As in an ultrasound?" Beth asked, butting in the conversation. "Yeah, she's just out now so she text me the gender of the baby" I said.

"What's she having?" Betty asked. "Twins. A boy and a girl" I said, smiling. A few minutes later, Jade and James walked in. "Hey, what's up?" I asked. "Just stopped into say hey and Jades craving ice cream" James said. "Sure, want the usual?" I asked. "Yeah, can I have marshmallows as well please" she asked.

I got her ice cream and put marshmallows on for her. "James, you want anything?" I asked while I was over at the ice cream. "Yeah I'll have the same as Jade please" he said. I got him the same as Jade and brought them back over to the cash register. "Two caramel fudge brownie ice creams with marshmallows. Anything else?" I asked. "No that's all" James smiled, taking out his wallet to pay. "No dear, it's fine, it's on the house. Consider it a present from us to you" Betty smiled. "It's fine really" James said, taking out £5 for the ice cream.

"No, no, I insist" Betty said. James sighed defeatedly and put money in the tip jar instead. "Danni, why don't you take a break? Talk to your friends while they're here" Betty added smiling. I thanked her and got some ice cream, putting the money in the register.

"Let's see the scan" I said, sitting beside Jade. She took the pictures of the scan out of her purse and showed me them. "I can't wait to meet my little prince and princess oh my god" I said, taking a bit of my ice cream.

Jade, James and I sat and talked until we finished our ice cream. "I better get back to work now, I'll talk to you later. Tell the rest I said hey" I smiled, standing up and giving them both hugs. "We'll talk to you later, enjoy" Jade smiled.

I put my apron back on and sat back behind the cash register. A few minutes later four tall lads walked in. "Danni that's 5 Seconds of Summer over there. I am freaking out" Beth whisper shouted, dragging me down so I was crouching behind the counter. I shook my head, laughing and stood up, straightening my uniform out.

I grabbed a pen and notepad and walked over to their table. "Hey, I'm Danni and I'll be your waitress. What can I get for you?" I smiled. They told me their orders and I walked back over to get the ice cream for them. "Bro how'd you do that so calmly? I'd end up embarrassing myself and tell Ashton I love him or something" Beth laughed, helping me with their orders.

I put them on a tray and walked over to their table. "Caramel sundae for you" I said, handing Ashton his ice cream. "Honeycomb with marshmallows for you" I said, handing Calum his order. "Banana split with extra chocolate for you" I said, handing Michael his order. "And a large strawberry milkshake with whipped cream and a cherry for you" I said, handing Luke his order.

"Can I get you anything else or is that everything?" I asked, smiling. "No, we're fine thank you" Luke smiled. I walked over to the cash register and sat down. "Danni do you know the way you love me" Beth said. "What do you want?" I laughed. "Will you ask 5SOS to get a picture with me?" She begged. I stood up and laughed. Beth and I walked over to where the lads were sitting.

"My idiot co-worker is a huge fan of you and is too shy to ask but she wants to know will you get a picture with her?" I asked. "Yeah sure" Ashton smiled as they all stood up. Two of them went either side of Beth and I took the picture. "Done" I smiled.

"Danni why don't you get one too?" Beth asked. "Nah I'm sure the lads just want to relax for the day" I smiled. "No it's fine, we don't mind" Luke smiled. When I got a picture with them, Betty walked out. She has this wall where she gets pictures of whoevers working that day with any famous people that come in.

So far we have Paramore, The Wanted, All Time Low, One Direction, Chris Brown, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Room 94 and Demi Lovato. "Are these boys famous? Would you boys get in a picture with Danni and Beth for our little wall of celebrities" she asked. Beth and I got a photo with the boys and they sat back down.

"Is there anything else I can help you with?" I asked. "Can we get the same as last time please?" Michael asked. "Yeah, I'll get them now, one minute" I said. I walked back over and got them what they ordered last time and gave them their ice cream and milkshake.
