"I can't do anything about it, Y/N!"

"So you're just going to let me stay trapped here? I've already been locked in here a week!" Akutagawa let out a long sigh, he was exhausted from pushing himself to the limit to try and help his partner but now he felt useless. Unable to care for them, to give them what they wanted.

"I'm sorry." He looked deeply into Y/N's eyes, telling them that he truly meant his apology. In response, his partner looked down, somewhat guilty for pinning it all on him.

"I know you are. I'm sorry too, I put you through far too much." A small lump began to form in the front of Y/N's throat. No, they couldn't cry. Not here. Not in front of him. They looked up to their office window trying to distract themself. A flash of white caught their eye, causing them to quickly rush to the window which they were looking out of.

"Shit! They're sending them out again!" Once they got there, they locked eyes with the person going past. Q waved at Y/N with a smile on their face. They were holding the doll, indicating that their ability was going to be used. Y/N waved back but their face didn't match the smile on the young child's. Concern etched itself into the elder's face, drawing in their eyebrows and causing a slight grimace to form on their lips. Once Q had left Y/N's sight, they turned back to face their partner who was now directly behind them.

"This does not bode well." Akutagawa said coldly. Y/N could tell that he also had concerns with letting the young child free. Y/N rushed back towards their desk which now had many bags of their items which Mori had ordered to be transported from their apartment stuffed under it. Frantically, Y/N began to stuff a few items from each bag into one small rucksack.

"I need to get out of here." Once they had zipped up the bag, they rushed towards the door; however, they were stopped by a firm hand in the centre of their chest. Akutagawa looked at Y/N with an emotionless face, causing shivers to run down their spine and their heart beat to quicken.

"I can't let you do that." Y/N was frozen, somewhat mesmerised by the man before them. They had never studied his face in this much detail before so only now did they realise how thin his eyebrows were. Meanwhile, Akutagawa kept his eyes locked on Y/N's whilst his hand moved from their chest and reached round to their hand which clasped the bag. To his surprise, Y/N let go of it willingly, allowing it to fall into Akutagawa's palm. Suddenly, he felt a rush of adrenaline, his mind was telling him that this was his chance. His heart pounded in a perfectly matched rhythm to that of his partner's. Fast and harsh.

"Y/N, I..." His mentioned partner blinked in the first time for a while, brought out of their trance.

"Yes?" For some reason unknown to Akutagawa, Y/N's trance being broken released all of the adrenaline which had been building up inside the man. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to confess your feelings to someone who was effectively under house arrest in your care.

"I.. don't have long left with you. I think you have Chuuya looking over you in an hour when my shift for the day ends." Y/N's face fell a little, they had clearly been expecting something else. Little did Akutagawa know that it was the exact thing he wanted to be true.

"Oh. At least it's Chuuya and not the boss." They laughed a little in order to break the tension and slight awkwardness which had formed between the two. They failed and made it worse which made them decide that it was better to just sit down and fill in some paperwork. For the duration of the next hour, the two sat in pretty much silence apart from the odd question with regards to borrowing certain items of stationery. What seemed like a decade later, there was a knock on the door and Chuuya entered into the office.

"Y/N, we need to go." They stood up from their seat, grabbed one of the bags and walked up to the executive at the door. Before they left, they turned around and wished their partner farewell. He responded with a short "bye" and with that Y/N and Chuuya left the room and walked towards Chuuya's own office. Once they entered, they placed their bag in the corner of the room and sat down in their usual chair.

"By the way, this was not my idea. I know that you're strong enough to be out there." Chuuya looked at Y/N with slight remorse in his eyes.

"Well, there's nothing you can do about it sadly. I'm stuck in here until this shit show is over." Y/N smiled defeatedly, wondering how long they would be stuck in the Port Mafia Headquarters. Their mind also drifted to Q and the trouble that they might be in because of Y/N's inability to go out and help them if they got caught.

The evening with Chuuya panned out the usual way evenings with him did. Getting black out drunk and passing out on his desk. This time; however, they had clothes with them and didn't have to borrow one of the executive's suits. They laughed together and made light of the terrifying situation they were in.

The following morning, the two were awoken by a knock on the office door. Upon opening it, Y/N saw the familiar face of Mori Ougai.

"Let him in, Y/N." Obeying Chuuya's orders, they stepped to the side, allowing the boss to walk in with Elise following behind. The blonde girl looked up to Y/N at the door and waved to them before following the man she called Rintaro to Chuuya's desk. Y/N let the door shut and sat on a chair which was in the corner behind Chuuya since the boss had taken their usual one.

"We have some news. Bad news." Mori looked somewhat nervous. He looked up to Y/N briefly but looked away. From that small action, they knew exactly what this was about. Something which they had warned the boss to prevent but, as usual, their advice was not taken.

"What has happened?" Chuuya asked, oblivious to what was to come.

"We've lost contact with Q. The slightly brighter news is that we're pretty sure we know who has them. Their last known location was on the pier looking for two guild members - Steinbeck and Lovecraft."

"What do we know about those two?" Y/N asked from the corner. They were determined to rescue Q, even if they were cooped up in the headquarter building.

"Steinbeck's ability allows him to grow grape vines out of his skin. There seems to also be another part where he can connect his consciousness with any tree he desires. Lovecraft is much more of a mystery. Very little is known about him, all we know is that he has a morphing ability."

"What are we going to do?" Chuuya asked, his brain processing this new information meticulously.

"Chuuya, you prepare the Port Mafia for attack, if they have Q who knows what they'll do with them. Y/N, you see if you can find any more information on Steinbeck and Lovecraft, and prepare for battle yourself while your at it, we may need you after all."
