"So you're saying that you have to work with Dazai again in order to save Q?"

"Yes, Double Black is reluctantly back in business." Chuuya leaned back in his chair to look at the two opposite his desk, averting his gaze from one to the other. Y/N knew what he was about to say, looking down in their lap due to embarrassment.

"Sooo... how long has this been going on? And how dare you not tell me, Y/N." Realising what this conversation was about, Akutagawa's eyes widened a little before he too looked down into his lap, hoping it would make him invisible and not involve something being directed at him.

"You literally walked in about five minutes after I told him. Well, he told me first-"

"Wow, so you have got some balls when it comes to relationships Akutagawa-kun." The man mentioned raised his head a little, his cheeks slightly dusted with pink due to the embarrassment.

"Chuuya!"

"Sorry, Y/N, sorry. Anyway, I'm very happy for the two of you." He muttered something under his breath which Y/N didn't quite catch but they did hear a slight bit which sounded like 'a lot of money'.

"What time are you going to save Q?" Akutagawa asked, trying to change the subject back to what it was prior to Chuuya's mocking.

"About two hours. I better get some rest beforehand, I have a worried feeling that I may need to use Corruption." He stood up from his desk and walked over to the door an opened it for the two guests to his office. "Have a pleasant evening and don't do anything I would."

"Good luck, Chuuya." Y/N said before they left with Akutagawa trailing behind them. An awkward silence fell between the two as they walked down the corridor back to their shared office. It filled the air, seeping into every crevice. The small awkward feeling grew into a tidal wave of emotions, pushing the two away so that nobody who passed them could work out the fact that they were practically making out an hour earlier. To the few who passed, it may have seemed as if the two had experienced a falling out due to the fact that they were consciously trying to not look like more than work partners rather than walking naturally beside each other.

Relief washed over the two lovesick mafiosos as the door of their office came into view. Akutagawa walked a little quicker in order to unlock the room and get inside as soon as he could. Y/N sped up too in order for him not to wait holding the door for too long. Once they were inside, they leaned on the door to close it and looked up to Akutagawa.

"Well... could we carry on from before?" Y/N awkwardly mumbled before they looked down at the floor and began to mess with their hands. Akutagawa slowly walked towards them and placed his hand under their chin to lift their face up to look back at him. A small smile rested on his lips. A smile which Akutagawa finally let Y/N see for themself. He looked directly into Y/N's eyes before closing his and leaning into Y/N again to press his lips into them. Their lips moved in sync, hands gliding into place. Akutagawa's hands rested on Y/N's hips once more as their hands rested on the back of his neck, slightly playing with the ends of his hair as his tongue ran along their bottom lip. Y/N opened their mouth slightly, allowing Akutagawa to slide his tongue through their lips and along their tongue.

Being in the Port Mafia never really led itself to a life of joy and love. The endless death and violence caused a deep dread for relationships and a reluctance to seek happiness. But they had found it. Found the comfort for each other within the Port Mafia. A small glimmer within the darkness. When the two finally parted, wide grins spread across each of their faces, small giggles coming from the young lovers. Y/N flung themself into a hug with the man in front of them. He wrapped his arms around them in response, a little confused by the unfamiliar feeling of being loved but he knew that he was happier. A light in his life filled with the fear and darkness of being an assassin.

"I can see if the boss will let me take you home. I'll still be there to protect you for the Guild." Akutagawa whispered into Y/N's ear. They looked up at their love, still grinning from the surge of happiness.

"I'd like that." They said to him.

That evening, Akutagawa came back to the office with the news of what the boss' decision was. He slowly drifted to his chair and looked towards Y/N who was expectant to receive his answer.

"I'm allowed to take you home for tonight because we plan to end it all tomorrow."

"Do we have a mission?"

"I do, sadly you don't." Y/N sighed, partially disappointed and partially annoyed at the fact that they could not help the Port Mafia in its fight against the Guild.

"I'll be there as soon as it's done with." Y/N replied.

"Thank you."

The pair finished their work from the day, determined to be able to stay for the return of Chuuya and Yumeno. The tension throughout the entire building was high, word had spread fast about the reunion of Double Black. Those two were legends, a reputation which succeeded the Hellhounds themselves. They waited.

And they waited.

Two hours and there was nothing.

Three.

Four.

A knock on the office door startled Y/N from the sleep which was attempting to take hold of them. It opened to reveal Gin, Ryunosuke hurried out of his seat towards his sister, Y/N following shortly behind.

"They're back." Was all she said before the three walked down the hallway. Down the stairs, and into the foyer.

Yumeno. Dazai. No Chuuya.

Y/N rushed over to the two of them, taking Q away from Dazai. They were asleep, exhausted from the pain they had been put through. Y/N took them out of Dazai's arms and placed them into their own.

"Where's Chuuya?"

"Out for the count. He's safe, I just left him there." Just looking at Dazai made anger run through Y/N's veins. They wanted to bash his head against a wall right there and then. But he had saved Q and had saved themself from the Guild. So maybe it was time to save him.

"Leave before anyone in here attempts to kill you." They said before walking off with a slightly snoring Yumeno in their arms.

"We've going to have to put them back in solitary confinement you know." Akutagawa said coldly as Y/N walked up to him and Gin.

"I know." Y/N looked down at the child in their arms. Just turned a teenager and already so messed up. Looking at the child's face, you would have never guessed the pain and suffering they had caused. How did someone so innocent in the face be so dangerous? They guessed that was what a lifetime in the Port Mafia did to you.

The three dropped off Q with the boss, saying their final goodbyes to their sleeping form.

-

It was almost midnight at this point. The sky was pitch black, not a single star making it a little brighter. Akutagawa and Y/N stepped out of the Port Mafia Headquarters into the dark night. They were free. The Guild ordeal would hopefully be over tomorrow and they would never have to spend a night in their workplace again.

The pair walked side by side, not a single soul to be found other than them. It was quiet, bar a few cars on the main roads. Slowly, their hands moved to each other's. Hesitantly, as if expecting rejection. Once they met the other, they interlocked their fingers and continued walking into the night.
