Chapter 43

Aku furrowed his eyebrows and glared at Hikaru "You won't listen huh?" Aku then kicked him with his foot flowing with hydro.

Hikaru groaned and gripped his katana "Why? Why?! What is the reason on trying to summon Orobaxi?!" Hikaru yelled

Aku turned to him "Orobaxi should be the one ruling over this nation as he is our god!" Aku yelled back.

"It pisses me off when somebody disturbs me..." Aku mumbled and was about to continue the ritual when Hikaru launched at the hydro samurai.

Aku saw this in an instant and pulled out his katana just in time to block Hikaru's attack.

"You really want to do this the hard way, huh?" Aku said breathily and counter attacked Hikaru making the cryo samurai stumble against the wet cement flooring.

"This isn't you, Kohaku... You're possessed aren't you?!" Aku laughed at what Hikaru said "Possessed!? I don't know what you're talking about, Hikaru" Aku approached Hikaru who was laying on the cement floor.

He then summons blades made out of hydro and crouch down to meet Hikaru's gaze "I thank your family for opening the gateway between Enkonomiya and Inazuma..." Aku then giggles and snapped his fingers making the hydro blades stab Hikaru, as it ended the cryo samurai's life.

Aku then continues the ritual, as the tides started getting higher with Aku's hand spread up into the air

"oh my, lord! rejoice from the depths and bring back the once glory you deserve! curse or karma shall not stop the everlasting serving for the infinite serpent... Watatsumi Omikami!" Aku chants, as the ground begins to shake and the building crumbles apart, as a serpent rises up from the sea below.

"You, mortal... dare to summon the Watatsumi Omikami..." the serpent said lowly and stared down at Aku.

"Yes! I'm the one that summoned you, my lord! I'll be in great assistance to you and I will help you fulfill in restoring your throne in Inazuma!" Aku shouted with mesmerized eyes and an obsessive expression implanted on his face.

"How wonderful of you... but... what a shame that I will not get acquainted with a human like you..." Orobaxi said making Aku confused "Wha-what...?" he muttered.

"Hmm... it seems I'm in hunger, would you care to treat me for a dinner?" Orobaxi said.

Ei's eyes were full of fear when she witnessed the serpent god ate the samurai in whole making her fumble backwards.

Her surroundings faded into a different area of the island. People were evacuating the place, as Shogunate samurais and Enkonomiya soldiers fought eachother in a war.

Meanwhile, Orobaxi was fighting against... Ei's past self when she was still a kagemusha.

It was a cold blooded war with the endless pouring of the rain mixing with the peoples' blood, sweat, and tears.

Ei was in a cave where she saw two samurais resting, as they were treating their wounds "Genkei... Daiki will be alright. Don't worry" a samurai said and rested his hand on Genkei's shoulder.

Genkei shook his shoulders making the samurai stop touching his shoulder.

The samurai looks down with his hands behind his back "I know that you're mad at me because of..." the samurai paused and just sighed, not wanting to finish his own sentence.

"Kohaku..." Genkei started and clenched his hand into a fist "Why didn't you stop your brother...?" Genkei asked while greeting his teeth.

The samurai cannot answer his question and scratched his nape "Juro! Answer me! Why can't you stop your own brother?!" Genkei turned to him with tears brimming out of his eyes.

"Why? WHY? Can't you even put up a fight with him or make amends with him?!" Genkei shouted at Juro making him flinch and also cry.

"I- I tried persuading him... b-but he..." Juro whimpered and pulls up his sleeve to reveal black streaks appearing on his skin.

"Is that..." Genkei eyes widened and Juro nodded "He infected me with the curse... at how much I tried to cleanse it... it's incurable" Juro said.

"This might be the last day of my life... I hope we get to see eachother again in our next life..." Juro said and gave him a tired smile "I'm sorry and... goodbye" Juro said and ran outside with his katana unsheathed, as he tries his best to fight.

"JURO!!!" Genkei shouted with his hand outreached.

The place Ei was in then fades into white scales. Ei was standing on the serpent, as a samurai charged on her way.

Ei expected a large hit but the samurai just went through her like a ghost.

Ei was in surprise on who the samurai was charging at "Chiyo..." It was Chiyo, who was possessed and kills whoever gotten in her way.

"FIRE!" a familiar voice ordered and it was Ei's beloved friend "Sasayuri..." Ei was crying, as she got to see her friends again but in a bad state of events.

Ei remembered that she passed out in the middle of the fight with Orobaxi and was treated by Saiguu at that time.

"Ridiculous human..." Ei heard a demonic laugh from the possessed Chiyo, as she slashed the samurai in every corner of his body.

The samurai was Juro, he dared himself to fight Chiyo but ended up falling off the serpent's back but was saved by Sasayuri just in time.

Sasayuri flew up the serpent's back with his/her katana ready to strike(idk his/her gender but we can all agree that he/she's fine af).

Ei tried to be strong to not let out tears, as she was about to witness his/her death.

"Sa- sasayuri..." Ei tried reaching out to him/her but she was just watching a memory that was being played.

"The cherished tengu general about to face his/her death? Oh how exhilarating~" Chiyo grinned with her fingers dipped in blood.

"Bring back Chiyo, you monster!" Sasayuri shouted "A monster? Fool! This girl is already a monster!" the possessed oni shouted with a sadistic smile.

"Chiyo is not a monster! She's my friend! And you have no rights on harming my beloved friends!" Sasayuri shouted and charged at her.

Chiyo flung him/her over with just a slash from her sharp claws.

Sasayuri's sleeves formed slits and blood dripping from his/her arm, as his/her wings were spread out in the air.

The fight between them proceeds, until Sasayuri received a large hit from the oni making him/her fumble aback and land on his back.

His/her forehead was tainted in by his/her own blood, as she/he tried to fight back.

When Chiyo was about to end his/her life, Ei's past self came in to defend Sasayuri from getting killed.

"Ei..." Sasayuri muttered and stood up "Sasayuri! Don't!" Ei's pastself tried to stop the tengu general.

"It's okay, Ei. I can still fight and I'm also at the edge of dying anyway" Sasayuri said and patted Ei's shoulder.

"No! You can't fight her! Bring yourself to safety instead! I can handle her on my own!" Ei's past self said.

Ei(current self) can't bare to watch of what was about to happen, as she turned her head away.

Tears fell from Ei's purple eyes, as she hears blood splattering and screams of her crying.

Ei sat there with her knees against her chest, as she thought she had moved on from their deaths... but it seems she hadn't in such long years.

Darkness flooded Ei's surroundings and silence took over with only her whimpers can be heard within the dark void...
