"Jungkook?"
Mia's eyes widen in alarm, gazing between her best friend and the angel. There is a clear look of recognition in Jimin's eyes, mixed with a healthy dose of suspicion. Yoongi just looks confused, glancing at the space where Jungkook stands frozen, wondering what's going on.
Jungkook looks ruffled - and this truly makes Mia panic. It's the first time in the last two days she has seen him look anything less than calm.
It's subtle - an anxious flare of electricity in his eyes as he gazes coolly at Jimin - but it's there.
Why didn't it work? she wonders. Jimin can clearly see Jungkook, although Yoongi cannot. Perhaps he can only compel one person at a time?
"You know each other?" she finally chokes out, eyes flitting between them.
Neither moves to reply for a moment, and for a second Mia thinks they will stand in silence forever - until eventually, Jimin speaks.
"Yes," Jimin begins slowly, his eyes not leaving Jungkook. "We're... old friends."
"Old friends?" Mia repeats, gazing at Jungkook in confusion. "But that doesn't make any sense..."
"Who the hell are you two talking to?" Yoongi chimes in, looking bewilderedly round at Mia and Jimin.
Both Mia and Jimin ignore him, because Jungkook has finally decided to speak.
"Jimin and I..." he says calmly, shifting beside Mia. "I used to be his Guardian."
Something unreadable and intense flashes over Jimin's face as Jungkook says this, but he masks it so quickly that Mia doubts it was ever there, before he nods. "But that's not the point - why is he here now?"
Mia shifts uncomfortably, battling between confusion over Jimin knowing Jungkook, and trying to sum up who Jungkook is, exactly. "Well, uh-"
""Are you both having a stroke or something?" Yoongi demands - but this time, his look of confusion fades into one of total shock, gazing at Jungkook, and Mia knows.
Jungkook has released his complusion, and suddenly, Yoongi can see him too.
As if he's just appeared next to Mia in a blink of light.
"H-how-" Yoongi whips around, looking for the direction Jungkook must have come from, and coming up empty. Bewilderment splashes across his feline eyes. "W-who-"
