The nobles applauded and said, " that was beautiful princess." Everyone started gathering around Athanasia and Claude. While Jennette found it hard to get near them. The emperor and the princess stayed together as they had conversations with the nobles. Jennette came over to them and Claude glared at her while holding Athanasia's shoulder.
"Daddy can I talk to the girls over there?" The princess ask.
Claude turned to Felix and said, "go with her."
"Yes, your majesty." They then walked over to the young ladies in the corner. As they did Athanasia said, "I didn't think I need to start gathering power this early."
Felix then said, "please don't worry too much about it princess. You have his majesty by your side."
"That may be, but the duke holds political power and I don't know who else is supporting her." Athanasia said as she lied. She knew who else would be supporting Jennette. However, that person still hasn't arrived yet.
Meanwhile Felix grow worry as he thought, 'great now she's going to go into over drive. Her perfectionism was already bad enough when she was the only heir. Now she has someone to compete against.'
Felix then saw that Jennette is about to approach Athanasia and interrupt. He steps in to block Jennette from her. "The princess is busy right now. Why don't you mingle with the other guest, your highness." Felix's tone was enough to be taken notice by the other nobles. For him to speak in such an ill manner toward Jennette, who was just introduced to be a princess of the empire was disrespectful.
"I just wanted to talk to my little sister." Jennette said.
Claude glared at her from behind and said, "how disrespectful!"
Jennette turn around and said, "father."
"To think that you would address us in such an informal manner when you had only just been introduced." Claude said.

"Forgive me your majesty I forgot my manners. I just wanted to talk to my younger sister. I mean the princess." Jennette said.
Athanasia took notice of what was happening and ask, "younger? Why would you say that when we are clearly the same age? I mean you are having your debutante right now am I right."
Jennette smiled and said. "I know, I was born in the same year, but I'm still a few months ahead of you so."
Athanasia was about to say something when Claude cut her off. "Are you saying I should give you the title of First Princess just because your older by a few months?"
The room turned silent as the nobles waited for Jennette's answer. When she didn't answer Claude was made irritated and said, " a few months is not enough to justify me giving you the title of First Princess when you were born in the same year as Athanasia. Athanasia is First Princess since she's my first daughter. You will only ever be second. "
