The Emperor's Banquet part 2

After Jennette was done eating her lunch, Emma and the maids brought the dresses in. The second princess smiled as she waited for weeks since the debutante to get new dresses.  For the past few months, she's been made to wear dresses that didn't suit her, weren't her style, or just too big for her that she wasn't able to wear them.  

However, when she finally saw the dresses. "These are it?" Jennette said as she bit her lower lip. She then thought, ' these aren't what I imagined at all. Where are all the lays, ribbons, and flowers? Like the dress I wore at the debutante. '

She then looked at Emma and said, "where are all the really pretty dresses. Like what my sister has."

Emma then said, "these are all you get. Or have you forgotten about how you displeased and offended his majesty already."

"What are you saying?"

"Use your head! It means his majesty isn't please with you. You have only been in this palace for a few months, but you already lost his majesty's favor. Do try to behave like princess Athanasia for once. " Emma said.

Jennette looks down and thought, ' will I really be able to go to the banquet with these dresses?' She then shakes her head back and forth and thought, 'no. Its fine! Once I start gaining father's favor, I'll have pretty things again. I just need to make a good impression on him at the banquet.'

Emerald Palace 

"What dress would you like to wear for the banquet then princess?" The new designer ask Athanasia. Instead of going with another well-established brand she asked another small dress shop to make her dress for the banquet.

"I want a dress that's not to tight, something that I can wear comfortably while eating my meal, without worrying about how much I'll eat. Just so I can look good while wearing the dress. You understand me?"

"Yes princess. Ah! How do you feel about high waist dresses?"

"I'm good with them. Although I don't really like them for evening gathering since they tend to be so flat." Athanasia said.

"Leave it to us princess. We'll make sure that you can eat and stay beautiful at the same time." The designer said as she smiled along with her assistant. Out of all the dress shops from the empire she didn't expect that the beloved princess Athanasia would choose her small shop to dress her for the emperor's banquet of all things. 

A few months ago, word started to spread that princess Athanasia was representing a small brand called Madam May's dress shop. All the big designers laughed it off. However, when they saw that nearly every girl that was the princess's age were wearing Madam May's dresses to go to a tea party. It was very common for young aristocratic girls to wear short dresses in the summer, but not in spring. However, ever since the princess begun to wear a full, short skirt with white stockings every girl begun to wear one. Since then, everyone has predicted that whoever the princess wears will become a trend.

Weeks Later

The Day of the Banquet

Athanasia's dress for the banquet arrived at the emerald palace. " Wow! I look so mature. Don't you think so lily?"

"Yes, that dress really suits you princess." Lillian said.

The princess span around and said, "I didn't think that brown would look so good on me."

"I think every color would look good on you princess." The designer said.

Athanasia looked at her and smile, "It was a good decision to hire miss Kathrine."
