I was taken aback until I realized that I had a sparkly, fish stick colored dress on. I winced and then filming began so I became serious. Everything went smoothly except when I could not help laughing at how silly Baekhyun looked trying to be sexy on stage. I stifled my giggles after a few seconds and this mistake was not too bad because only a few audience members may have noticed.
After I went to the dressing room to change into more comfortable clothes, Taecyeon came in before I could change.
“Good work today. Tina, right?”
I tried not to get too excited like with Woohyun.
“Yes, I’m Tina. Thank you. You did very well today.”
“Ha-ha. I’m used to this stuff, but I haven’t done it since 2010 with Sulli and Wooyoung. I guess we’ll have to see each other every week whether we like it or not. What’s your number?”
I shyly gave him my number and then he smiled, which comforted me, but also made my legs feel like Jell-O. He was too good looking for his or my own good. I could never imagine dating a man that was more than ten years older than me, but he was oh so fine.
That night he initiated conversation through text, but it was not a kiddy conversation such as the one I had conducted with Woohyun. He was simple and to the point. He wanted to meet me outside of work when both of our schedules met and that would be tomorrow afternoon. I was so nervous that I barely slept a wink.
The next morning I took a good look at myself in the mirror. I was always considered to be beautiful, but I had become a celebrity and my face looked different. Maybe it was a celebrity glow? I put on some natural makeup; a little concealer (especially for my eye bags), mascara, and some lipgloss. I deeply regretted not having brought something cute to wear. A loose fitting grey shirt and my dark wash skinny jeans would have to do. After wasting time for a few hours basically just thinking of scenarios and witty things to say to Taecyeon, I left the building with sunglasses on to meet Taecyeon in his black van. (It is really not as creepy as it sounds. All celebrities are usually transported in vans.) His manager sort of raised his eyebrows when he saw a young girl like me come into the car, but then he just shrugged and drove us to Taecyeon’s apartment in a quieter part of the city. Taecyeon also had sunglasses on and a cap so we quickly got out and then went up to his place.
By now, I was extremely nervous because I realized this was kind of illegal. I was only 15 in America! And he was 26! He made us delicious ddeukbokki and then kissed me on the forehead. I tried to relax, but it was difficult. What was I thinking?! I liked him, but he would get into so much trouble.
“Don’t worry. I’m not going to do anything with you until you’re at least 18. I just want you to know that I am interested in you. You are incredibly beautiful and I can tell that you’re a very sweet girl.”
I blushed. He had read me like an open book. He was so perfect and I was just too happy. After we ate and talked, his manager came and drove me back to the dorm. I studied my lines, thought of Taecyeon, and then went to sleep to dream about him some more.
