Couple days past by and everyone in the group seemed to get along fine. Izumi was very accepting which was a blessing. Aiko found Izumi very hyper but kind of cute like a little sister or something.
It was the weekend and apparently Haruka and her parents were meeting up at a high class restaurant with one of their business partners. It was a late evening and Haruka finishes getting ready.
"Mother why do I have to go?"
Her mother only responds with an excuse, "Because they're taking their child and you must accompany them as we talk business."
"I hate snobby children."
"Apparently they are the same age as you." Her father said while walking out the room
The family drove to the restaurant and settle themselves in, waiting for their guest to arrive. It didn't take long as the business partners walk in and with their child following behind. Haruka locks eyes with an all too familiar figure.
His golden hues clash with her chocolate brown eyes, it was like if they were in a movie for a split second. Kozume Kenma was not at all shock to see her as much as she was.
The parents got to talking as Kenma sat across from Haruka, both looking at the menu, which occasionally she would steal glances.
"So..." Haruka clears her throat, "do you come here often?"
"It's a business meeting not a hangout."
"Okay I was just trying to make conversation."
After a while of their silence and the parents talking, they ordered their meals and waited for the food.
"Kozume-san uh thank you for handling umm Kuroo-san for me, I would've been dead already without your help." She laughs a bit
"It was just returning a favor."
A favor. Thats all it was to him. Not because he cared for her but just returning something when she helped him out. It hurt to hear him not care a single crap about her but its nothing new now.
It was hard for her not to just talk and have a simple conversation, she wanted to spend time with him before a confession.
"Why don't you two teens go look at the dessert for tonight?" His mom says
It took some time to convince Kenma to get off his seat and follow Haruka but still it works out for her to get something out of him. They walk to the dessert area and look around for something sweet to eat after the dinner.
"This one looks good"
Kenma turns to see what she was talking about; it was a chocolate cake with strawberries on top. He thought back to the little friend dates when they were younger and how she would love strawberries and chocolate.
