Chapter 36
Saying goodbyes are always difficult. The knowledge of knowing that you might not meet this person ever again and could not do anything about it was devastating. Well, at least this time Fumiko was more prepared about it.
The girl was leaning on the cave's wall when bit by bit, Shisui became to fade away. The both of them were silent, there was no enough time to express their feelings, so the siblings-like Uchihas were just looking at each other and smiled.
"It's time." Shisui whispered. "I am so proud of you, Aire-chan."
"...as I do you, nii-san." Aire mumbled back.
The holdings hands were now only hers, falling down from the place where Shisui previously was. Aire's smile dropped instantly and with the energy she got left, she stood up. The girl did not bother to acknowledge Sasuke who was watching her intently and walked out of the cave.
"Where are you going?" Her younger brother asked with a scoff.
The girl casted a glance behind her back, showing her only living mangekyo before body flickered away. She landed in the middle of the war, slashing through the creatures that was about to get Naruto with her Susanoo on.
"Fumiko-san, you made it!" Naruto exclaimed happily before his mood dampened. Fumiko could sense his guilt, but decided to ignore it.
"Give me a short summary, Naruto." She demanded.
"That person," Naruto pointed, "is not Uchiha Madara. He's Uchiha Obito, Juubi's jinchuriki. The man standing next to him is..."
"Uchiha Madara." Fumiko whispered before body flickered in front of Madara and attacked him.
Madara dodged her attack pretty easily before looking at the girl's Susanoo. He was impressed. "And who might you be?"
"Uchiha Aire, the current head of the Uchiha clan." Obito answered gruffly as he landed beside Madara.
"A girl, as the headclan?" Madara asked in distaste. "Why would they make a mere girl as the headclan?"
Fumiko snarled and looked at Madara in anger, her mangekyo brightened up. The girl gritted her teeth, "Try me."
And so he did. Madara's own Susanoo was out and they attacked each other. The impact of their attacks was huge, leaving massive scars on the land. Even Naruto was thrown up from the impact, which thankfully landed several feet away unharmed.
"I have to help Fumiko-san." Naruto said as he tried to get up, but fell back down. "Ugh."
"Stand down, Naruto. You will only get in Fumiko-san's way." Shikamaru said, then nodded towards Sakura. "Sakura, heal him up."
"Ha'i." Sakura went behind Naruto and infused her chakra to him.
"But... I promised Neji that I will protect Fumiko-san." His hands were balled, shaking in guilt.
"You're only getting in Fumiko-san's way." Shikamaru shook his head.
"But—"
"Naruto!" A man with chakra cloak just like Naruto landed beside him.
"You're so late, tou-chan!"
People were appalled. One by one, the late Hokages arrived at the war.
"I-is that Madara?!" The first Hokage exclaimed in glee.
"Who is he fighting?" The second Hokage asked in distaste as he knew the other party must be an Uchiha too.
"Uchiha Fumiko." The third Hokage could not take his eyes off the battered up girl.
