Lila's POV

"Max, where were you" I said with a lump in my throat. 

I had stopped crying but all my mascara was running all over my face. 

"What happened, are you alright?" said Max who immediately got up from his chair. 

"I can't explain" I said. 

I was telling the truth. I couldn't say it. I felt stupid because it had happened to me again. Why me? 

"Wow wow, tell me" he said with concern in his eyes. 

"Ask James" I said with sincere effort. 

"What, Lila you're making me worried" 

"Are you deaf? I said ask James" I turned my head. 

He sighed "Fine then"

With a worried face, Max rushed downstairs. The only thing I wanted to do was sleep. 

After 30 minutes, Max was still not back. It was race day, but the race would not start for another 3 hours. I had to get some fresh air, to get rid of the negative thoughts. 

With a fake smile on my face, I walked downstairs. I didn't want people feeling sorry for me. I am here to support Max, and that is what I am going to do. I have to get over it sometime. 

I felt betrayed, but the feeling I had was familiar. 

As I walked around the paddock I saw Max and Lando talking. I wanted to turn around but they already saw me. I immediately remembered the kiss Lando gave me on the cheek. I reluctantly walked in their direction. 

"Hey..." said Max in a compassionate tone. 

"Hi?" I said. 

"I heard what happened, sorry. I didn't get to talk to him he left right after he talked to Lando" said Max sighing. 

I didn't dare to look Lando in his eyes. I was very grateful to him for taking care of me, but I didn't know what to say. 

"Don't worry about me, and just focus on the race" I said with a fake smile. 

I'm sure I'll get over it, I'm used to it by now anyway.... 

"We'll talk it out after the race, I have to put on my race suit sorry. Are you going to the Red Bull garage?" asked Max.

I nodded and said "Yes I am, what way was It again?"

"Lando, you just said you were going to the garages, didn't you?" 

I looked unconsciously at Lando who was looking at the ground with his hands in his pockets.

"Lando?" said Max again. 

"Huh?" he said looking up, looking confused.

Max started to chuckle and said "In short, Lila has to go to the Red Bull garage and as usual she doesn't know the way. You're supposed to be going that way, aren't you, so can you show her the way?"

"Oh sure" he said soberly. 

"Okay thanks man, see you later" said Max as he walked towards the Red Bull motorhome. 

Now I was alone again with Lando. Something I had rather avoided. 

"Follow me" he said. 

I didn't say anything and slowly followed him silently. 

"Are you alright?" He asked when he stopped walking. 

"Uh yes" I said.

"If it has to do with the kiss then-"
