"I'll ask Max if we can," I said to Lando, who was looking deep into my eyes. 

I wanted Max to join. He is in the first place my best friend, and he's good friends with Lando. And I'm trying to avoid to be a whole evening together with Lando. 

Not because I hate him, but because im scared.

"You don't understand me" said Lando.

He looked a bit nervous, as if he needed to get something from his chest.

"What do you mean?" I asked. 

"I want to eat somewhere together, just you and me" he said looking at the ground. 

Him and me. I would love to go with him, but it's better if I don't go.. I don't want to fall for him harder..

"Oh" I said. 

My vision became a little blurry, I didn't know what to say. To me this sounded like a date, and that's something I really don't want. 

"You don't want to go do you?" he sighed. 

I really want to go. Is what my heart says, but my brain was thinking something else.

"No it isn't that I don't want to go, but to me it then feels like a date, instead of going out to dinner as friends," I said. 

I wasn't wrong right? Going out together with someone who you just admitted that he likes you sound like a date.

"How am I supposed to take that feeling away from you then?" he said with a glint in his eyes. 

I didn't know the answer to his question. I realise that I am starting to like Lando more and more. The more I hang out with him, the more I like him. 

I don't want to be in love. It only brings darkness.

"I don't know, I'm just afraid I'm going to like you more" I said rubbing my arm. 

He looked around and then looked at me again. 

"Do you like me?" he said with an uncertain smile. 

"I'm starting to like you, and I really don't want to" I bit my lip. 

"Why wouldn't you want to? It's mutual anyway, I like you and you like me too" 

"Lando you don't understand..." I looked at him. 

"Then explain it to me please" he said sighing. "I'm just scared okay, I'm fucking scared" I felt the lump in my throat. 

"You're scared of what?" he pulled me into a hug. 

"I'm scared of my heart getting broken, I just don't know who to trust and who not to trust..." I felt the tear roll down my cheek. 

I felt Lando hold me tighter. 

"It will be alright" he whispered in my ear. 

I calmed down, and stopped the hug. I looked into his eyes and he into mine. 

"Believe me when I tell you that I love you" he said with his gaze fixed on me. 

"How can you love someone you don't even know very well" I said. 

"I don't know, I saw you smiling and immediately I wanted to know more about you. You are really special." 

I felt the shiver through my body. 

The way he said it... 

I just started nodding not knowing what to say. 

I looked around to see where Max was. 

"Are you looking for someone?" said Lando who also started looking around. 

"Yeah, I thought Max was done by now" I said looking through the windows of the Red Bull motorhome. 

"I'll stay with you until he gets here" he said with a proud face. 

"That won't be necessary" I said. 

"I know, but I want to" he said with his arms crossed. 

I let him go his way, and together we waited for Mum. 

After five minutes he walked out. 

"Sorry it took a bit-" started Max, but I interrupted him. 

"Let me guess... it took a bit longer" I said with a grin. 

"Right in one go" said Max walking in our direction. 

"Hey man, what's up?" said Max greeting Lando. 

"I'm fine, thanks" he said. 

I looked at them both in turn. 

"Hey Lila, I'm not going to let James get away with it though" said Max with a smile. 

"Let him, it won't do any good..." I said sighing. 

"Come on Lila, you can't let someone walk all over you like that" said Lando. 

"Yes I can, because I just did. 

"You have to stand up for yourself" said Lando. 

I sighed and said "okay fine how?" 

"Revenge" said Lando nodding. He rubbed his hands in a devilish way. 

I frowned, what the fuck was he up to. 

"Since you don't ask I'll just say it, what if we start forming a couple. Then I'll be your fake boyfriend, that's how you'll make him jealous"

"Doesn't that go a bit too far?" asked Max. 

Lando's smile appeared in a 'it's better if you shut up' face. 

"It's genuinely a good idea" said Lando. 

"I don't know... the media is there too and then it becomes a very big thing if people think we are together" I said. 

"You shouldn't care about the media, they almost never speak the truth anyway. So what do you think?" said Lando with a grin from ear to ear. 

shall I say yes and take revenge on him. Or is it better if I say no, and just let it go?
