The Stolen Jewel

Chapter 4

Once we got to the store we got the popcorn,cotton candy,and soda. But when we went to the cold section of the store we saw John... but I thought he died.
" That's John Harper!" Roxy said walking toward him." Hello Sir. "
"Hello girls." He said.
"What's your name?" Ellie said.
"John Harrison." He said.
"Wait is this Cooper's brother or maybe he's trying to cover that he's alive."
"John I heard that someone named John Harper had a very bad accident yesterday-" He interrupted me.
"Umm well that's not me." He said waaaay to quickly.
" Well this guy named Cooper Harrison escaped prison so if you put John Harper and Cooper Harrison together it makes John Harrison. " I said.
"Well that's a ..... Coincidence. " he said trying to walk away.
"Sir are you related some how to Cooper Harrison?" Ellie said.
"No not at all I have never heard of him." He said.
"I don't believe that." Elizabeth said under her breath.
"Well I must get going." He said walking away as the clerk from the jewelry store came onto the aisle. "I found the solution..., she paused."Hi I've seen you girls before have you been to the jewelry store at the mall?" She said.
"Yes who is this man with you?" Roxy said acting innocent.
"He's uuh Cooper .. I mean Harrison... Or uuh I mean I don't know him." She said.
"We have to go buy some other stuff. Nice to see you." Elizabeth said as we went to get some birthday cake ice cream.
We went to the checkout and we headed out the door and got in the car I checked my phone and my mom sent me some messages like where are you at? Are you ok? When are you gonna get here?
Luckily public was really close to home.
"That was really confusing wasn't it?" Roxy said as we left.
" That clerk lady was confusing especially after he said he was John Harrison but she said he was Cooper and Harrison." Ellie replied.
"Wait she said he was Cooper and Harrison so if you put that together...."
"It makes Cooper Harrison!" We said in unison.
"So that was really him!" Roxy said.
"Now I wish I never gave her my number." I said.
"I think she's on his side." Elizabeth said.
As she said that we pulled into the driveway. Then Elizabeth left to get her stuff from her house.
"Let's go find the movie!" Ellie said.
"Alright!" Roxy said giving me a high-5.
"We'll get the stuff out once Elizabeth comes back." I suggested.
"That'll work." Roxy said.
"Hey girls!" My mom said embracing us. " I'm glad you could come. Where's Elizabeth? "
"She went to get her clothes." Ellie said.
"Do you know where the jewel thief is?" I asked.
"Its in the TV room I think." Mom replied.
"Thanks!" We replied going upstairs.
"Here it is!" Ellie said holding it up.
"Nice let's get Elizabeth to bring flashlights." Roxy said.
" Why?" Ellie and I said at the same time.
"I'll tell you later." She replied.
"Fine." I said.
"Sounds like Elizabeth's here." Ellie said as we headed downstairs.
"Let's unpack the car." Roxy said.
When we finished unpacking we popped popcorn, opened sodas, ate some of the cotton candy and candy.
We headed upstairs with the flashlights and all our food.
"How come I had to bring flashlights?" Elizabeth said.
"How else would we be able to see outside at that old house?" Roxy replied.
"How are we gonna ride there though?" Ellie said trying to say I never said I was gonna go there.
"Bikes?" Roxy said.
"I have some to ride." I said.
"So do I!" Elizabeth said.
"Ok then after the movie?" Roxy said.
"I'm in!" I said.
"Me too." Elizabeth agreed.
"Fine." Ellie said giving in.
"Great." Roxy said.
