Chapter 8

As soon as we went into the passageway all we saw was dust.
"No wonder Cooper had this thing blocked off." Ellie said sneezing.
"I know ri-" I said tripping on a stair,"Ouch!"
"Here I'll help you up." Roxy said suggesting that I take her hand.
"I'm going to be bruised in the mornin'!" I said.
"Let's head up the stairs." Ellie suggested, "I wonder what it leads to."
"Me too." Roxy said gollowing her.
As we headed up the stairs we heard faint talking. Once we got a little closer it sounded like... Elizabeth!
"It's Elizabeth!" I said.
"Come on!" Ellie said.
Now we could tell someone was in there with her now. They were having a conversation about something to do with a bracelet.

Elizabeth had pulled out a four-leaf clover bracelet,
"What's this from?"
"Oh yes, it was a prize at a carnival." She told her laughing.
Elizabeth started laughing too. "I can't believe that this bracelet is from a carnival."
"It was at a ring toss game!" Mrs.Susan said laughing even more.
"Oh my gosh." Elizabeth said laughing with Mrs.Susan, "ok next one. What about the teal shirt with golden leggings attached?"
"Oh my! That's what my sister wore when we played pretend!" Mrs.Susan said, "that was her favorite thing to wear when we played."
"I remember when I played princesses with my sister."
"Those days are way past me, young lady."

"I wonder why they're laughing." I said.
"I think they are friends." Ellie said.
"But why would she lock her in there." I said.
"Maybe she was mad at first and then they got to know eachother then they became friends." Roxy said.
"True. Let's bang as hard as we can on the .... Roof?" Ellie said.
"Ok." We agreed.
We banged as hard as we could...

"What's that banging from?" Elizabeth asked.
"I don't know, darling. But it sure is making my seat move." Mrs.Susan stated.
"Let's look under your seat."
"Alright then." Mrs.Susan said standing up.
Elizabeth found a latch under the seat. She pulled on it and pulled on it...

"Hey I think she's pulling at the floor." Roxy said.
"Let's help by pushing up." Ellie said grunting.
"Ok." I said joining her to push at the "roof."

"I think someone's under there!" Elizabeth exclaimed.
"Keep pulling!" Mrs.Susan said.

"It looks like its working!" I said.
"Ok on three." Ellie said.

"I'll pull really hard on three...one-

" two-" Ellie yelled.

"Three!" We all said in unison.
"Hey guys!" Elizabeth said helping us up.
"I'm so glad we found you!" I said giving her a hug.
"Who is that?" Ellie whispered to Elizabeth playing it off as a hug.
"Oh I almost for got to introduce you guys. Ok This is Mrs.Susan." Elizabeth said pointing to her.
"Hello girls!" Mrs.Susan said warmly.
"Hi Mrs.Susan." I said.
"Nice to me you!" Ellie said.
"I'm happy to be here!" Roxy said.
"Aren't you all just angels?" Mrs.Susan said.
"I'm Ashley."
"I'm Roxy."
"I'm Ellie."
"And I'm young lady." Elizabeth said laughing.
"Im thinking you want to leave now." Ellie suggested wanting to leave.
"That would be great I'm a little thirsty." Mrs.Susan said.
"Ok be careful going down the steps. I learned the hard way." I said.
"Thanks Ashley." Mrs.Susan said heading down.
Once we got back to the opening I grabbed the rope and threw it up so we could get out. When we got out Mrs.Susan told us we could come back anytime. We said we would and we got in the car and left.
While we were in the car I asked,"Remember we have that meeting at 2 o'clock today."
"Oh man, should I call my dad and tell him. Maybe he could be undercover." Ellie said.
"Call him later it is 4 o'clock in the morning." Roxy said.
"Oh ya then he'd ask where we are.." Ellie said.
"And we don't want to have to lie." Elizabeth added.
"Ya when we get home we have to sneek in because my mom will be like what have you girls been doing all this time?" I said laughing.
"Ok but let's try to get something to eat." Elizabrth said turning in to Chick-fil-a.
"That will be good and we an get some donuts from Krispy-Kreme!" Roxy said.
"Ok let's eat when we get home!" I said.

Once we got home I thought my mom would smell the delicious fresh donuts. I would have smelled them from a mile away! We hurried upstairs and when I turned on my phone a million notifications. It turned out it was from my mom! She left to look for us! And she said she would call Ellie's dad!
"My mom's looking for us!" I told them.
