"Do you believe him?"

Caitlin was asking a question they were all evaluating. They knew better than to trust Thawne, but it's not like they could casually have him moving around.

"Yeah, like hell he suddenly wants to become a good guy. We shouldn't even be considering this. I vote we send him back to the future and lock him up in Argus. "

Cisco pitches in. Barry ran a hand through his hair. Everyone had gathered to come to a solution. After Eobard made his case, they were all going through the options.

"I know Thawne, he's no saint, and he's never done anything that didn't help him in some way. I think he's telling the truth about switching, but not because he had a sudden change in heart. " Iris stood at Barry's side, running a hand down his shoulder.

"You're right. There must be something more." Joe inputs. Barry's eyes lift, watching as you stand at the side silently. You were looking down at your hand. He caught the slight tremble, your lips in the tight line.

"What do you think (Y/N)?"

All eyes were now trained on you, and it took you a few seconds to notice. You blinked, and Cecile moved a bit closer when she felt the pulse of energy.

"Sweetie, are you alright?"

You swallowed. Sometimes you forgot she was in tune to emotions. Especially the one you were probably pushing out right now.

"I'm fine I just.."

You let out a little laugh. Then another. Pretty soon the tears start to flow. Barry rises from his seat slowly, and they all look sad when you begin to cry. Barry zooms over to you.

You feel pathetic. Out of all the members, you haven't experienced pain like they had gone through. You were raised by a loving family, and came to Central city to pursue your dreams. When you got these powers, you thought you'd give the hero thing a shot. It looked fun. But after facing that, facing him, you realize just how naive and inconsiderate you'd been.

Up until now this felt like a good pastime.You did it because you could, not out of duty like Barry on the others, You weren't even fit to call yourself a hero. Because the first sign of serious danger has you crying like a child. Barry hugs you, and you bury your face into his chest. There was a split moment where you thought you really were going to die. That your life would end. Have you ever accomplished anything significant in this life? It all seemed to just buzz by at that moment.

You wail, and he rubs your back. They all gather around. They'd been so caught up in solving Eobard's master plan that they neglected to see that you were hurting. Cisco feels the worst. More than anyone, he should have seen through it. Usually you were bouncing off the walls at the sight of a new fight or criminal to capture.

For the remainder of the evening, Eobard is placed at the back of their minds.

~~~
"How is she?"
Iris watches as Barry slides the door close to the med area. You were laying on the bed, getting some rest. They may have taken for granted how sheltered you'd been. Facing death like that, it was enough to throw anyone in a stir.
"She's better. "
Iris takes his hand, and immediately he pulls her into a hug.
"Why now, why did he come back?"
Barry felt like life was finally calming down. But now there's apparently a new threat. Not just that, but a part of him feels like he's let you down. He was supposed to protect you. You weren't like them. You need to adjust. Maybe recruiting you was a bad idea. He always seems to put others in danger. Now with Eobard, it was all so jumbled.
"I think I may know why."
Barry pulls back.
"You do?"
Iris nods.
"You said it yourself. He'll never do anything that doesn't help him one way or the other. Both of you are enemies. The only reason I can think of is if his life is in danger. Barry, I think that he's going to die."
To say he was shocked would be an understatement.
