"What!!!"

"Trust me whenI tell you we did not see it coming. " You hope that you can offer some comfort. Truthfully you're surprised you're handling this so well.

"He must have done something!!" Barry's first instinct is to accuse.

"Barry you need to calm down, the pipeline was still intact, and he was unconscious too. Whatever happened must have come from the outside. " Iris is trying to reason with him.

"You heard Cisco. "

None of them want this to be the reality. Keeping Eobard alive was one thing, but forgiving him felt like a whole other story.

"This may sound crazy, but I think I vibed his future. "

It's not like this was his first time he'd seen occurring events. But something about this felt more permanent. Solid. They'd changed the future so many times. Averted so many terrible outcomes.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but it felt kind of like faith or destiny. Almost like this is supposed to happen."

Barry shakes his head.

"I won't let him hurt (Y/N)." He wasn't going to watch anyone else he cared about die by the hands of that monster.

"It's not up to you."

You finally voice your mind. Harry and Caitlin's gaze move to you. Barry looks on in disbelief.

"I know he's a horrible person, more than anything I wish this was a lie. You really think I want to spend my future with some old grouchy guy."

"Hey!"

Harry says defensively.

"Oh sorry."

They did have the same face right now.

"A-Anyway, what I'm saying is we need to think this through before we make any decisions. I know I have no say in this. I haven't been through what you have. I have no doubt that if I were in your position, I'd feel the exact same way. I also know that because of my lack of experience with him, I'm the only one here who's able to be completely objective when it comes to Eobard Thawne."

Barry looks down. His rage for the man has been dictating every decision. He won't admit it, but it's the truth.

"So what do we do?" Caitlin asks.

You know it's impossible to ask them to just let him into their family with open arms. This would need to be slow progress.

"I say we test him. Give him a chance to prove that he's changed. If it's clear that he hasn't, then..then Barry makes the next call. If you really think he's beyond saving, then we'll have no choice than to send him back to the future."

You knew that meant guaranteed death for him, and it's not what you wanted. As much as he scared you, he was still a person, and a part of you has always believed that anyone can be saved with the right guidance. But standing by and watching Barry fight through the pain would also take a toll on you.

You'd leave the decision up to him.
