I am wide awake. I hear a vague rustling coming from the kitchen and decide to go investigate. I tiptoe my way towards the kitchen, taking a glimpse inside my mother's bedroom to check if she's still asleep. The bed is empty and made. I continue my way, and as I enter, a dark shadow is facing the window, and I could tell from the way his body is built, that Will decided to pay me a visit. " it is about time, dude! " he snarls. " Yeah Will, good morning to you too," I grin lopsidedly. He walks over to the kitchen counter and casually leans on it. " Your mom told me to inform you that she and Tina have some errands to tend to, and will probably be gone for the rest of the day. Now go get dressed, breakfast at my place. You have twenty minutes, after that, we are going to be having xbox day. Now go." he slowly reveals a copy of his brand new Assassins Creed III , and smiles widely. Just as he finishes his little parade, he turns on his heels, not allowing me to even blink . As soon as I hear the front door close, I plummet down on the couch, head in hands, and let out an exasperated sigh. I love Will with all my heart, but I am NOT in the mood to even breathe today, let alone slay Templars for 5-6 hours, but I cannot even think of saying no to him, so I prance towards my bedroom, pick out a red hoodie that Wanda had once given me , alongside some blue jeans, and get dressed. I contemplate the idea of fixing my hair, but knowing my cousin, he would probably be pacing, and counting every second. I scold myself for even thinking of anything that might make Will grow impatient. I quickly wear my worn-out gray Chuck Taylors , and dart out of the door. I make sure that my keys and phone are with me, and race down the stairs. The realization suddenly hits me, maybe this is not such a bad idea after all, I mean I would practically do anything not to be alone with my thoughts.
Before my fist is even in contact with the door, Will opens the door, and winks at me. " What, were you waiting by the door this whole time?" I ask, clearly displaying my failed attempt of making a joke. Will slightly nods, and we both submerge into a fit of giggles.
" Lindsay! Good morning dear! How are you? " Will's mom, Carol, greets me , and ever-so-gently hugs me. " Good morning to you too, I am doing great , thank you for asking." Even though we are relatives, I don't want to come off as rude, so I use every kind word I have ever learned while engaging into a conversation with her.
" It is pancake time! " Jenna comes around, still in her pink pajamas, dancing around the kitchen. She is two years older than I am, but something about her always makes me forget our age difference.
Mrs. Carol finally orders us to take our seats at the kitchen table, three plates are set up, and the aroma of pancakes and syrup floods the atmosphere, making my stomach yearn for it. I am the first to receive my food, and then Jenna and Will argue on who is next. The quarrel is finally settled, and the winner - hands down- is Jenna, with her being the older. 2 minutes later, we are all busy stuffing our mouths and satisfying our stomachs. We occasionally talk every now and then, but our family is known for its quiet time during eating.
We are now setting up the xbox, Jenna left a while ago, so now it is just Will and I.
6 hours pass by in a blink of an eye, granting me no time to think at all. The Templars are all being murdered by us, the A team. Will is very skillful, for this is almost what he's been doing all summer, and my skills are not exactly perfect, but they will do.
The rest of the week passes by unbelievably fast, leaving me in awe. Tomorrow is New years, and I've decided , if I don't hear from him tomorrow, then this is it, I am turning in my weapon, and giving up.
