A month has passed give or take. The cravings were now in full swing and the backache was almost constant. It was midnight and he woke up with the strongest feeling that he wanted carrots and ranch. It was one of the strongest ones that he had so far. He knew it was late, but his stomach would not leave him alone. He quietly tried to make his way into the kitchen. He passed by almost every room without seeing anyone. But as soon as he got to the kitchen, he knew someone was there. Volstagg scared him out of his wits, "What are you doing in here in the middle of the night?" "I was hungry. I cannot help when I get the urge..It's also not my fault, I cannot help it." His hand flew to his bump to protect it and he knew that he had given it away. "Dang it." He said softly. Volstagg noticed his hand position and said "What's going on?" Loki groaned, "It's nothing. I swear." He put his hand back at his side only to feel a small kick that only brought him to tears. 'You aren't helping.' He said to himself. Volstagg walked over to him and said "Something is definitely going on. Not once have I ever witnessed you here this late." Loki sighed, "Just give me some food. I'm starving." Volstagg let out a chuckle, "What do you want?" "Carrots and ranch." He said softly. "You've never EVER asked about carrots. This is the third time in the past two months that you have been eating them." Loki sighed and took the bag out the fridge with the ranch and said, "See you later, Volstagg." "Turn around." "What?" "Look at me and stand still." "What is this about? I swear." "You've gained weight. You... You... have... a... bump." "I'm fully aware." He said. Volstagg replied "Am I seeing things?" "Nope. It's there." He said biting into a carrot. Volstagg replied his voice shaking, "Are you? Are you?" "Say the word. I know what are you are thinking." He replied. "Your pregnant." He stammered. "You got that correct. Good job, you win the grand prize." He chuckled and walked out of the room with the carrots and the ranch. Volstagg just stood in the middle of the kitchen with his mouth hanging open. "What am I going to tell them?" Volstagg said to himself. Loki walked into his room and sat down on his bed and finished eating his late night snack.
