Chapter 5

Welcome to Chapter 5 - yep you lucky people are been treated to a double update today - this chapter is shorter word wise but does contain three videos - I am aware as I am based in the UK some of the videos I add may not be available but at the end I will make a note of what each video is so you can still follow along and find your own version that would fit within the story also - so enjoy!!

In a location unknown:

As Newt walked away, Alby continues his tour with the Greenie around the Glade; he couldn't help but notice as they walk around how this Greenbean is different to all the others that had arrived, he hadn't cried, clunked his pants or lashed out. He was more curious and despite how frightened he first appeared he seemed to be calming down more as they walk around, especially more so since he had met Newt.

After taking Thomas up to the watch tower and explaining the rules to him, he hands him over to Chuck to get him settled in as he things he needs to prepare for tonight. Chuck introduces himself and hands over some supplies before showing the new arrival the sleeping areas.

The Greenie is barely listening to Chuck as he speaks but not because he wasn't interested in what he was saying, more so of what was hiding behind those giant stone walls. His curiosity gets the better of him as he leaves Chuck behind and heads towards the opening, he hears Chuck shouting for him to stop as he races to catches up with him.

Confusion sets in as Chuck explains they are not allowed to leave just as two young boys come running back through the doors, one greets Chuck before heading over towards a hut hidden in the corner. After Chuck slips out there is a Maze behind the stone walls, the Greenie wants a closer look even more at what lies out there.

Once everyone had left Greenie stood staring at the closure point in the walls, a hollow feeling dropped into his stomach as he realised a horrible truth that they are all trapped there. He places a hand on the crease in the wall before turning and heading back to the sleeping area, he quickly thanks Chuck for setting up his bed before lying down in it and closing his eyes to allow his mind to settle.

Not long afterwards Chuck shuck Greenie awake advising it was dinner and bonfire time, as guest of honour he couldn't exactly not attend. The dinner was fairly good but real excitement started at the bonfire, after Newt had answered enough questions, he took Greenie on a tour before it was time for the main event.

Back in Beacon Hills

As Rafael McCall settled on the sofa ready for the night his phone dinged, he picked it up and noticed it was a message with an attachment from his colleague that was looking into WCKD for him.

Thought you may want to see this, I know someone who works inside WCKD that provided me this as proof of life and confirming their co-operation with the agreement we offer them protection once this is over

Rafael clicks open the attachment and almost drops his phone at the sight in front of him, he scrambled up of the sofa and replaced his shoes on before racing upstairs and waking Melissa up. The pair dive into his SUV and race over to Sheriff's house knowing this information can not wait for a more suitable time of the morning. They dive out of the car and Rafael hammers on the front door as the lights inside are switched back on and they hear the sounds of footsteps racing towards the door.

"Rafael, what the hell? Do you have any idea what time it is?" Noah screams as soon as he opens the door, Scott is stood behind him with Lydia still wearing Stiles's Lacrosse Jersey.

"I'm sorry this couldn't wait until morning; I have news on Stiles." Rafael states as Noah quickly moves aside and they all head towards the dining room. Melissa with the help of Lydia quickly makes everyone a cup of coffee knowing after what they are about to see, none of them can sleep anymore.

The back door bangs open to reveal a half-awake Derek and Parrish; everyone in that moment can see why Stiles calls Derek, Sourwolf for. He happily accepts the mug of coffee pushed into his hands before downing it in one mouthful.

"Rafael, what is this all about?" Parrish asks after Lydia and Melissa finish handing out the mugs of coffee and topping up Derek's mug before all present turn their attention towards Rafael.

"I received contact back from the person I reached out to, turns out they know someone who works within WCKD and has agreed to co-operate with us in the exchange that we will protect them. To prove they are willing to help they have sent a video over, as a proof of life in a way." Rafael states taking his phone out of his pocket and placing it on the table in front of them.

"Proof of life in what way? Wait, proof that Stiles is still alive?" Noah states suddenly feeling more awake than he was a few moments earlier; even though Mary and Vince had said the Maze was a fate worse than death at least it would mean he was still alive.

Rafael just nods his head as he can't find the right words to describe it as anything different, he hoped the video would explain better than he could. He angled it so all could see and played the video he was sent with the volume on max.

Silence filled the small room as the video ended, so many emotions ran through each of them it was almost an overwhelming amount for the Werewolves present in the room. They finally had what they had been looking for, proof Stiles is still alive and trapped within the confines of the Maze and middle area but seems to not have any memory of himself.

Back in the Glade

After the Grievers scream broke up the celebrations, Thomas headed back into the sleeping area after a quick stop in the cleaning station to wash the dirt of the day from his face. It was a relief for him to finally know his name but in his mind, it answered up more questions that he was sure he would never get the answers to. He closed his eyes hoping for a peaceful sleep but that didn't appear to be on the cards for Thomas.

Thomas jolts awake confused at what he had just dreamt; that little boy looked exactly like him, yet the man and lady were calling him Stiles. What on earth is a Stiles? As he is about to drop off to sleep, Alby appears over him and covers his mouth and signals for him to remain quite before pointing to follow him.
