"Look at these two lovebirds, can't even let us eat our cake in peace."

"You two better enjoy your first few months, that part doesn't last long."

"Hey! That's completely not true!"

The lake glistened, reflecting the setting sun. The subtle wind rushed through my hair. The sounds of my footsteps on the rocky ground completed the peaceful atmosphere.

I walked over a small hill before hearing distant laughter. I smiled at the sight of three familiar figures. The girl waved at me, prompting the two boys to turn their heads around.

As I reached them, I carefully took a seat beside the raven-haired boy.

It is our eighth year at Hogwarts. Not that eighth year is an actual thing, we just needed to make up for what we missed last year, considering that we only spent a few weeks here, and that was to fight at the battle. Many other students from our year are also retaking classes. I suppose having death eaters roaming around school didn't help them absorb their lessons easily.

"Cake? Ron made it. Quite good if you ask me," Hermione offered a small plate of strawberry cake.

I gasped, "Ron baked?"

"Oh shove off, Y/n. I'm not that incapable of doing things," Ron said, pushing my shoulders gently.

"Whatever you say Ronald. So, what d'you think of this whole returning to school thing?" I asked them.

"Not bad, actually," Ron smirked, wrapping his arm around Hermione's shoulder.

Hermione pushed him away, disregarding him, "I absolutely love it."

"As expected," I muttered, raising my eyebrows slightly.

"I'm so grateful that McGonagall gave us this chance. I was quite worried that I couldn't complete my education," she explained further, cutting off another piece of cake for herself.

"You?" I turned to Harry, waiting for his response.

He thought for a moment, "It's fine, I guess. I mean, we do have our own tower, just for the eighth year students."

"Yeah and the best part is–" Ron said with his mouth full, "we're unsupervi–"

"Don't talk with your mouth full, Ronald," Hermione snapped.

Ron, who would normally argue back at Hermione, chuckled instead, keeping his gaze at her. Unconsciously, I smiled too. I looked at them, admiring the moment right then and there. I've never truly realised how simple things like this could make me so happy. Our days in Hogwarts before this year were always full of events that often took away our time from enjoying small moments like this.

"What?" Hermione stared back confusedly, "Is there something on my face?"

"No," Ron said, "Just admiring my lovely girlfriend."

"Oh, shut up," Hermione said, as she tried hiding her flaming cheeks.

"Look at these two lovebirds," Harry commented, "Can't even let us eat our cake in peace."

I shot him a glare. Ron and Hermione had finally gotten together just two months ago, it only made sense that they are still lovey-dovey to each other.

"You two better enjoy your first few months, that part doesn't last long," glancing at Harry as I jokingly said it.

"Hey!" Harry shot back, "That's completely not true!"

I cleaned out my face, wiping off some of the concealer I used as I sat on my dressing table. It's only been a few months since I started to get proper sleep again, and let me tell you, my dark circles are stubborn. I could see Harry staring from the reflection, casually sitting on my bed.

"If you're only going to stare, might as well return to your room," I said, rolling my eyes at him.

"I can't," he said playfully.

"Why not? I'm sure Hermione's going to return soon, and if I were you I would–"

"How are you so sure?" he raised his brows at me.

"So sure with what?" I said, genuinely confused. I got onto my feet and walked to the front of the mirror, as I tried to zip off my dress.

"Oh, don't pretend you don't know," Harry stood up walking towards me, "They're occupying the room."

Right. They can do things now.

"Let me help you with that," he said as he helped me unzip, but before I could move, I felt his arms wrap around my waist. Harry buried his face on the crook of my neck.

"Harry–"

"Since they're occupying that room, shouldn't we occupy this room?" he rhetorically asked.

"No, Harry. I am extremely tired," I said, looking at him from the reflection.

He frowned, "No?"

"No."

"Not even if I do this?" he started to place gentle kisses on my neck and shoulders, attempting to take off my dress.

For a moment I was considering giving in, but I really was tired. I needed sleep, so I picked my sleeve back up, over my shoulders.

"Sorry Harry, no can do," I said, leaving him disappointed as I headed to the bathroom.

"I really gotta stay though. They're probably having the best time of their lives up there, don't wanna interrupt," he said from outside the bathroom.

"Alright then," I said, as I took off my dress, entering the shower, "Your clothes are on the left side of my wardrobe."

I was silent for a moment, thinking.

"You can join me in the shower if you want," I finally shouted.
