Y/n clearly did not expect whatever it was that just came out of Harry's mouth. "Closure?"

Harry breathed in a sharp breath, "Yes. Closure."

Y/n looked down and clenched her jaw, "I'm sorry—"

"I don't need apologies, Y/n," Harry added, pain evident in his voice. "I just need an– an explanation as to why you left. That's all."

"I left because I needed to, Harry," Y/n looked down, realising that what she did three years ago had hurt him more than she thought. "Unfortunately, I do not have the same strength in coping with what comes after the war as most of you have. I cannot stand it in England. Everything there just suffocates me. It still does, that's why I never returned."

"Why— Why didn't you tell me, I could have helped—"

"That's the thing, Harry. I do not just need to leave, but I want to leave. Good for you all for being able to forget about what happened so easily, but I can't alright?" Y/n cut him off, rather frustrated. "And I know my capacity. And I know you love it there just as much as you hated it. So I thought, clearly I was wrong, leaving you that way was the best option. I wanted you to forget me. I wanted everyone to forget me, so I can be a new person that has no ties whatsoever to the war."

Harry stared at her, his eyes held much more emotions than any words could. "Okay."

"Is that enough closure for you?" Y/n asked, holding back her tears. She hadn't spoken about the war for years, until today.

"Do you wish to forget me too?" Harry said quietly.

Y/n looked up to him. Does she? Does she really want to forget it all? They stared at each other for a moment, both longing for the same thing. Though only one was willing to go through it again. "Can I kiss you?" was all she could say.

Harry nodded and pulled her in swiftly. He gently cupped her face, and kissed her longingly like a deer that had just found the river after months. "Y/n. Do you wish to forget me?"

As much as she didn't want to admit it, she did wish to forget it all. Forget everything. Forget him. Start new. She had tried. For years she tried. That's when she realised that Harry is not the only one who needed closure. She needed it too.

"Yes," she breathed out. It was barely a whisper, but Harry heard it. He knew what it meant. She knew what it meant. She looked down at her necklace and touched it before deciding to take it off. "Here."

"Thank you," Harry nodded. "That was what I needed."

Y/n smiled through her tears, "Thank you and I'm sorry, Harry." she gave him one last hug before turning her back to walk away.

Harry watched his first love disappear into the corner. He was ready now, ready to move on to a new chapter. Perhaps it will be with Ruby Wiles, or somebody else. He won't mind because he knows now that Y/n will never come back to him.

Hello (='▽'=)

I hope you liked this one. Kinda sad, but at least Y/n is his first love.

Love,
