Sleep Tight

"You made me look like a fool!"

Y/n scoffed, "I made you look like a fool? Think again, Harry. Was it really me? Or was it you?"

Harry clenched his jaw and ran his finger through his hair, "You know it was important! You knew there was no other option."

"That's the thing. There is always another option," Y/n pointed out. "You just choose to ignore it."

Silence.

"I'm taking the couch tonight," she said.

Harry opened his mouth, but his ego took the best of him as he walked back to the room. They have been living together for at least a year, after Voldemort somehow disappeared again. For the last year, Harry was convinced that he needed to die in order to make sure that Voldemort was really gone. Clearly everyone was beginning to grow sick of it.

Harry watched the hands on the clock move, showing how late it is getting. He can't sleep. Merlin, why does he always put himself in such a difficult situation. Now he feels guilty. How could a boyfriend willingly let his girlfriend sleep on the couch, and what kind of an immature dick is he to have not accepted that she had been right all along.

He got up to his feet and walked to the living room only to find Y/n already asleep on the couch.

He looked down and let out a shaky breath, feeling ashamed of himself and sad at the sight. They have been fighting a lot lately, but this was the first time Y/n decided she didn't want to share the bed. She always prefers to share the bed. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he also prefers to have her by his side when he sleeps.

Harry contemplated for a moment whether or not to wake her, and finally decided that he should. "Y/n, love," he gently woke her up.

Y/n groans lightly, "Hm?"

"Look, I'm sorry. Let's talk tomorrow, alright? For now, I need you to sleep on the bed," he helped her up and placed a protective arm around her.

He laid her down on the bed and cuddled her, finding peace in the sound of her heartbeat and warm sweet scent.
