Chapter 17

Fumiko POV
~Yamamoto's office after graduation~

I came to Yamamoto's office like he told me to. 'I wonder what he wants me for?' I thought. I enter his office to see Yamamoto and Kenpachi standing in the middle of the room. Kenpatchi gave me a psychotic smile, and Yamamoto looked proud, but was trying not to show it. I walked in and stand in front of them. 'I don't think I did anything to Kenpatchi since yesterday. I hope I'm not in trouble.'

Yamamoto-"I'm glad you came here quickly."
Fumiko-"Yes, why am I here, and why is Kenpatchi here?" I ask.
Kenpatchi-"Hehehe."
Yamamoto-"Why I wanted you here is because I want you to take the captain's test. If you do take it you will fight Kenpachi to demonstrate your Bankai to me." He said seriously.
Fumiko-"Ok I'll take the test. Where are we going to go fight?" I ask.
Yamamoto-"Here in squad 1 training grounds." He says, and starts to leave.

Kenpatchi and I follow head captain Yamamoto to the training grounds. I could feel Kenpatchi staring at me. I look to see if he is, and he is. 'Damn why does he look at me so creepy like?' I thought.

~Time skip~
~Squad 1 training grounds~

When we got to the training grounds that is outside, there is know one there.

Fumiko-"Grandpa how come there is know one training out here?" I questioned.
Yamamoto-"I had the training ground reserved for the fight."
Fumiko-"How did you know I would say yes to taking the test?" I say, and look at him curiously.
Yamamoto-"I had a feeling you'd say yes."
Fumiko-"Ok, so can we get started then?" I asked.
Yamamoto-"Yes go ahead when your ready."

Kenpatchi and I went to the middle of the training grounds. We take out our zanpakuto.

Kenpatchi-"Heheh, I finally get my payback from the other day." He says happily.
Fumiko-"Yeah, don't expect me to go easy on you...... BANKAI!. Hono Kasai Ryujin!" I yelled.
Kenpachi-"I'll let you go first. Go ahead attack me." He said confidently.
Fumiko-"Fine by me." I said happily.

I charge in towards him and slashed his chest. He smiles a psychotic smile of his as blood dripped off of my sword, and down his chest. He swings his sword at me, but I jumped back before he could hit me.

Kenpachi-"Hehe."

He charges at me with great speed. We clash swords. He raises his spiritual pressure to try to overwhelm me. I flash-step be hind him. I swing my sword down. He spins around and we clash swords again. The force from the impact sends wind swirling around us. He flash-steeped behind me and swung his sword at me. I jumped in the air and did a flip and cut him on the back. 'He is strong I need to be careful.' I thought. He spins around and cut my arm.

Fumiko-"Ugh!" I said in pain.
Kenpachi-"Is that all you got?"
Fumiko-"Nope." I say and give him a evil glare

We clash swords again. I raise my spiritual pressure. I could see in his eye that he was enjoying our battle, and so am I. Both of us are panting heavily. I need to end this soon.

Fumiko-'Let's end this in one attack.'
Kasai Ryujin-'Use dai kaji.'

I raise my spiritual pressure to its limit. My eyes begin to glow a light blue almost white color.

Fumiko-"DAI KAJI!" I yelled.

Fire began to form bigger, and stronger around my sword. Then I swung my sword, and fire released in to a big blast. It hit Kenpatchi, and he fell to the ground. I was about to fall, but I stabbed my zanpakuto into the ground, and held myself up. Yamamoto came over to me with a happy look on his face.

Yamamoto-"You have past the test. You will be captain of the 9th squad." He said proudly.
Fumiko-"Great, who is the lieutenant?" I asked.
Yamamoto-"Shuhei Hisagi. He will meet you in front of the squads barracks." He says as he hands me a sleeveless captains jacket with a number 9 on the back.
Fumiko-"Ok, can you take Kenpatchi to squad 4th?" I say as I put on my captains jacket.
Yamamoto-"Yes, go and meet your new squad." He says kindly, and I left.

'I wonder if they are strong.' I think as I walk down the street to the 9th squad barracks.
