Shortly after the Rite of Parting preparations had concluded, (Y/N) finally reunited with Ganyu.
They started walking back to Ganyu's residence, tuning out the loud bustle of the streets and the bright lights that adorned each building. They focused only on each other as the cool breeze gently hit their faces, and the light of the moon illuminated the night sky.
Soon enough, they arrived at Ganyu's house. It wasn't very large by any means, but it had enough room for her to live comfortably.
Ganyu started brewing a pot of tea when suddenly, (Y/N) stopped her.
(Y/N): Let me take care of it
Ganyu: But-
(Y/N): Butts are for sitting, so you sit your cute butt down and let me handle it.
Ganyu was about to protest, but the stubborn look on (Y/N) 's face immediately put the thought out of her mind.
As she sat down, she thought about everything that had happened. The apparent demise of Rex Lapis and the resulting fallout that the Qixing now had to deal with had put immense stress on her.
Deep down, she was distraught over it, though she would not let others see it as she did not want to worry them when Liyue Harbor was already at a crossroads.
Suddenly, as if he could read her thoughts, (Y/N) chimed in.
(Y/N): It's okay to let your emotions out, you know?
Ganyu: Was it that obvious?
(Y/N): I know you well enough to know when you're trying to bottle up your emotions for the sake of others. But it's not healthy for you.
Ganyu: I suppose you're right...
Once the tea was finished brewing, he poured a cup for both of them and handed one to Ganyu as he sat beside her.
(Y/N): Here.
Ganyu lightly blew on her tea before taking a sip and setting it on the coffee table.
Ganyu: Thank you...
Her voice was soft, but (Y/N) noticed her quivering lips as tears started to stream down her cheeks.
(Y/N): Hey, it's okay. I'm here for you.
He spoke calmly and soothingly as he wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace, letting her cry into his chest.
Ganyu: I'm sorry... It's just... with Rex Lapis gone, what are we going to do?
(Y/N) could tell both her own emotions and stress had gotten to her. He hated having to lie again to someone he loved dearly, but he knew that Zhongli's plan would only succeed if everyone believed that the Geo Archon was dead.
(Y/N): *Sigh* Liyue Harbor must learn to stand alone without Rex Lapis guiding them. But for now, you need to relax and get some rest.
Ganyu nodded as she shut her eyes, but she was very restless and spoke to her love.
Ganyu: (Y/N)... I can't sleep...
(Y/N): Try not to think about it, okay? I'll be here for you. Ganyu: N-no, it's not that... it's just...
She looked at him with an intense blush that told (Y/N) everything he needed to know.
