It had been a almost a week now since Lauren and Zayn had begun their plan and things were already looking up. Her mother had shortened her grounding so that she and Zayn could go to the movies. She had also given Lauren her car back since she liked to use the driver for herself anyway. Clara was home a lot more too and if Zayn ever came over, they'd have to go to the lounge if they wanted any actual privacy where they could be themselves. Otherwise they'd have to keep acting should her mom walk into her bedroom or the living room to check on them (which she did quite frequently now and she'd "caught" them so many times that Lauren had lost count).

Clara was making it hard for Lauren to hang out with anyone but Zayn. And that was frustrating since she really wanted to hang out more with Camila.

The younger girl seemed to dislike not being able to spend time together very often as well. Lauren also suspected that Camila didn't like she and Zayn pretending to be a couple. She wasn't sure why, but Camila always rolled her eyes or scoffed whenever she and Zayn started acting. She really wanted to ask her brown-eyed friend what was wrong, but she was always with Zayn now.

Zayn tried his best to give Lauren some space, spending most of their time at school with his friends. And Lauren appreciated that and by no means blamed Zayn for their situation. She just hated feeling so forced to be something that she wasn't.

She'd talked to her mother about starting her sessions with Dr. Gavin again and she'd met with the stupid man plenty of times. She'd implemented more of their plan, feeding him some bullshit about feeling neglected ever since her dad was elected and her siblings weren't sent away and her mother started leaving the house more often.

Dr. Gavin said that Lauren was probably trying to make her parents pay for making her feel so abandoned at such a crucial time in her youth. He said that with some family sessions that the problem could be fixed. He also said it was a good thing that Lauren was willing to admit that she was "choosing" to be a lesbian rather than actually feeling like she was one, because had she been stubborn and been sent to Hallowed Faith, she might've felt out of place there. He even gave her some rant about pretending to be a lesbian and blah blah blah.

At the end of it, Lauren just walked away with the knowledge that a majority of the adults in her life were idiots. She told Camila this over the phone to which the younger girl giggled in that way that Lauren knew she probably thought the same thing, but felt it disrespectful to verbally agree. She really needed to spend more time with Camila, but she had something she needed to do today.

At the moment, she was packing up a bag to take with her to her grandmother's house. Now that she had her car back and she wasn't grounded, she could go and visit her again. Or at least, that's what she thought.

She'd grabbed everything she would need, making a mental note to stop by the gas station and fill up. She stopped by the kitchen to grab a couple of bottles of water only to find her mother leaning against the island counter and reading.

Clara raised her head and gave Lauren a confused look when she saw all that she was carrying.

"What's all of that? Where are you going?"

Lauren opened up the drawer in the refrigerator to grab two of the bottles and stick them in her backpack before addressing her mother. "Its Saturday. I'm going to visit abuela like I always do. I missed last weekend because I was grounded and I need to make sure she's got everything she needs. If I'm not back tonight, then I'll just sleep over there and come back tomorrow." she answered, closing the drawer and heading towards the doorway.

"Oh, no you won't be going." Clara answered simply before going back to her reading, her words causing Lauren to stop in her tracks.

She turned around and looked at her mom, she being the confused one this time.
