After the ice-rink, everything was normal. And not even in a boring way. It was refreshing, actually, to have a whole week free of drama or fights.

In fact, Germany and I got pretty well acquainted. He waved at me in the halls, now. He always smiles at me with a closed mouth. He tries to show his sharp teeth as little as possible. I don't mind them, really, but I appreciate the effort.

We talked a little more, about the Incident. It was obvious that our dads weren't the closest friends. Hell, dare I even say that they were enemies at times. Including, of course, when they fought, and Germany and I tried to step in. We were such dumb kids, trying to fight a battle that wasn't ours, one that was way out of our small, 10-year-old hands.

Apparently, Germany regrets it more than I do. He said that I had something—someone—worth fighting for, a good father whom I loved and who loved me. He didn't have that luxury. He told me that his father wasn't all that great, and just got worse after the fight. He eventually left, when Germany was 14. It was found dead not long after. I offered my condolences, but Germany said it was no need, that I didn't need to mourn the death of a man that didn't deserve mourning.

In lighter news, America and I went on many more dates. Sure, it was only a week, but come on! There's apparently many places I didn't go to before we moved, and had yet to see before America (the self-proclaimed "Hang-Out Slash Date Location Expert" even though he has to look at his hands to tell left from right) showed me. Do you know how big the mall is? I think it's bigger than the school. Which actually isn't saying that much since the student body is below 200, but still.

At some point, I asked America if he had experience with the "Date" part of "Hang-Out Slash Date Location Expert". He wasn't very shy in telling me yes, he had experience. He bragged that he was super popular with "the ladies", and I reminded him that we are two gay men in a homosexual relationship. He reminded me that he's pansexual. I told him that not many of "the ladies" can tell his sexuality when we make out in the halls. He retorted that we only did that three times, and only caught by faculty once.

So, in summary, everything was normal. Everything was a good normal, a nice refreshing quiet. I had a test today that I personally think I did really well on (Language Arts had always been a good subject for me), and had a very light amount of homework, which was saying something for a junior in high school.

Walking home, my siblings and I each told about our days. Ukraine said that he had quite a bit of homework and a major test to study for. Belarus proclaimed that she did all her homework in class because she was going to be hanging out with Kazakhstan. I poked her side with an amused face, and she flushed and pushed my hand away. Of course I remembered that Kazakh was the guy my sister had her eyes on. I didn't even get the sign out to tease her about her date before she turned around to avoid my questioning hands. I rolled my eyes with a fond smile.

When we got home, Bela immediately went to get ready for her little "outing" (it's totally a date). She ignored all my signs of love and romance, but hey, this would be my revenge for all her plotting with me and America. She deserved it.

Ukraine laughed at our antics. He wished Bela luck on her date (which she loudly declined) and retreated to his room. Before shutting his door, he told me to ask what father wanted for dinner. I nodded and set my bag down in my room before going back downstairs and to my father's office.
