"The commander, you idiots! Straighten up. Look alive!"
The fork that you were holding immediately dropped from your fingers and you dove for a napkin, arm wrestling Sasha in the process.
It was the last one left but you'd be damned if you looked like a fool in front of your commander.
"Give it here!" You snapped, ripping it out of her hands and wiping your face just as he made an appearance.
"Good evening cadets," Erwin smiled while you all saluted, a hazy smile growing on your face as you'd spotted the dreamy man.
You had always had a thing for Commander Erwin — but then again who didn't? Not only was he good looking, but he was also strong and brave and badass to the core. What girl didn't want him?
"G-Good evening commander," You repeated back to him, maybe a little louder than you should have.
His blue eyes shot to yours and suddenly you found yourself blushing, unable to move underneath his gaze.
"Knock it off, Y/N! You look stupid, you're embarrassing us!" Ymir hissed, shoving your elbow.
Your trace was lost and you scowled as Erwin moved on to greet the cadets further in the dinner hall.
"What is wrong with you? That was my chance!" You hissed, annoyed your one shot had been ripped away.
Jean snorted. "Oh yeah, like the Commander would ever go for you. Nice joke, Y/N."
"Hey! You never know!" You defended yourself while your friends shook their head at your obvious crush. "Maybe someday it'll happen."
"Then you'd better be counting your lucky stars his standards are a lot lower than yours," Jean chuckled.
