In the little hospital bed, two youngsters were cuddling. (Y/N) leaned back onto Kei's chest, his head on top of hers. He let her play with his slim fingers, and he couldn't help but smile as he stared at her amazed expression. He enjoyed her gentle touches. She cradled his hand in hers as if it were made of glass.

"You know Ichigo-kun and the others paid me a visit today when you were out buying McDonald's for me, Hotaru-chan."

Kei perked up at that.

"Did they?"

"Mmm, they brought me those lilies," she said, pointing to the table next to her bed, where there was a bouquet of white lilies.

Tsukishima scoffed.

"They're fake as hell. I've heard them slandering you before."

The young lady laughed.

"I know."

"Why did you receive them?"

"It wouldn't be nice if I didn't."

"You're far too kind."

(Y/N) grinned as she wrinkled her nose. She cocked her head to gaze out the window.

"I think it's going to snow."

The blonde's head had lowered to her slender shoulders by this point, and he felt her push her pale cheeks against his temple.

"How come?"

"Intuition!" she giggled, and the boy grinned back.

"Winter is my favourite season," she continues.

"How come you like it so much when it's cold?"

"Bingo! Because it's freezing!"

"Do you enjoy the cold?" he enquired, amusingly.

"Uh-huh! I also like the snow," she said, her smile replaced by a melancholy one, "my ma and pa used to create snowmen with me and then we'd catch colds together because we spent too much time out."

Tsukishima wrinkled his brows.

"Say, Hotaru-chan..."

"Mm?"

"I'd like to go to the roof."

"(Y/N), it's chilly," he attempted to persuade her.

"Please?" she begged, and he moaned in defeat, slowly rising from the bed. As (Y/N) cheered, he softly grinned.

As long as she's happy.

"Holy cow! It's super cold! How nice!" was what came out of the short girl's mouth as soon as they reached the rooftop.
It snowed just as she anticipated.

"It-it's snowing! Hotaru-chan, there's snow!" she happily shouted, as the taller boy lovingly stroked her on the head.

Their breaths came out as puffs of white smoke, and the chilly air nipped at their skin. Due to the cold, (Y/N)'s formerly pallid skin developed a pretty shade of lilac.

"Come on, Hotaru-chan, let's dance!" she said, grabbing his wrists and dragging him to the center of the rooftop.

He couldn't help but be intrigued when she glanced up at him with those pretty orbs of hers.

"Hotaru-chan, wrap your hands around my waist!"

He did what she requested, and she put her arms around his neck. They began to sway while (Y/N) sang a lovely song. They were lost in one other's gaze, and no one else mattered except them at that moment.

"This is ridiculous."

"Shh, don't ruin the moment, Hotaru-chan," she chided.

"Alright, alright."

"Someday we’ll find our way, even if we’re apart, and someday we’ll share our hearts with someone else," she sang and he felt his lips tremble, a quiet sob almost escaping his lips. (Y/N) smiled gently at him and continued crooning.

They continued swaying their bodies to the soft tune the small girl was humming.

He thought her humming was beautiful. She was beautiful.

"Hotaru-chan..." she softly called out to him.

Tsukishima bent down to press their foreheads together.

"I'm the happiest when I'm with you, Kei."
