AN HOUR AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE, the four woman found themselves in the living room, watching the news in shock. Anahera and Medea sat on one sofa, while Angélique and Venus sat on the other— the dimpled woman eating a bowl of cereal. The four of them found that the Earthquake had hit the entirety of planet Earth and that wasn't a usual occurrence.
Anahera had tried contacting Ajak, but the older woman wasn't picking up. Admittedly, Venus had a bad feeling about that— she wasn't the only one.
Venus's phone buzzed, causing the dimpled woman to place her bowl down, and grab the phone, looking at the contact. "Unknown number." Venus muttered, causing the three other women to raise an eyebrow at her.
Venus shrugged and quickly picked up. "Hello?" She answered, putting the phone on speaker. "Venus? It's Ikaris." They all heard on the phone.
All their faces dropped in unison at the familiar voice as Venus hummed, her eyes traveling to the short-haired woman who stared blankly at the phone.
Anahera's eyes held love and hatred equally, a swirl of emotions that contrasted so painfully. She remembered the day he left, how she waited for him. She was so sure he'd come back in a couple of days, with an apology and an explanation.
A couple of days turned into a couple of months. Which turned into a couple of years. After waiting for five years, Venus had found Anahera hiding out in Brazil. The dimpled woman had then dragged her to Chicago where Venus had lived with Medea and Angelique.
The group had stuck together ever since and Anahera found her safety net, her family, in the other three women and she made sure they always felt safe and loved by her.
"Well, well. If it isn't the little bitch." She spat into the phone, fiercely protective over Anahera. Angelique visibly scowled as she finally let everything sink in. Ikaris was calling.
"I understand you can't be too happy about me calling." Ikaris sighed into the phone and Venus scoffed. "No, I'm not too happy you left in the first place." She scoffed.
"Venus, I'm in your driveway, can you let me in?" The flying man questioned and all four women looked to the door with furrowed eyebrows.
"How the fuck—" Venus started but Ikaris cut her off knowingly. "I flew down here. After the Earthquake." He stated and the dimpled woman rose an eyebrow.
"You got here in an hour? Where were you before the Earthquake?" Venus questioned in confusion. "I was in Spain." Ikaris sighed and the dimpled woman nodded.
"Same....just without the S." She commented, causing Angèlique and Medea to snort as Anahera to roll her eyes with a scowl, throwing one of the couch cushions at her. Venus quickly dodged it.
"Venus." Ikaris deadpanned at the same time and the dimpled woman rolled her eyes. "Give me a second, I need to ask permission before I let you into our house." Venus stated before muting the call and turning to the other three women.
"Thoughts?" She questioned, before an awaiting silence spread through the room. "Screw it, just do it." Anahera sighed finally before she looked from the dimpled woman to the tanned woman.
"Don't kill him." She warned and Medea frowned with furrowed eyebrows. "Why not?" She questioned as Angélique sat up. "Yeah, why not?" The shorter woman added.
"Angé." Venus warned and Angélique frowned, leaning back to her original place. "Sorry." She sighed and Venus smirked. "No, you're not." The dimpled woman pointed out knowingly.
"No, I'm not." Angé shook her head in agreement.
"Just don't kill him." Anahera sighed, looking to Medea who huffed. "Fine." The tanned woman agreed before Venus unmuted herself. "Okay, come on in. The door is open. If you see a puppet in the window, avoid eye-contact." The dimpled woman sighed.
