disillusionment (n)
a feeling of disappointment resulting from the discovery that something is not as good as one believed it to be.negative comments are the only thing on the screen and haseul's mind as they try to scroll and find at least one good comment about them.
the scrolling of theirs began to be frantic, desperately trying and trying. 'just one, please I'm only asking for one.' that phrase kept repeating in their mind until the phone was snatched away from their grasp.
haseul looked up to the person who snatched their phone, and it was revealed to be their significant other, jay. they felt like they couldn't move as they watched jay put the phone away and wipe the tears they didn't know were there.
"haseul, this is self destructive. you did a great performance at inkigayo, your fans enjoyed it as well." haseul was in disbelief from what jay said, 'but what about the comments?'.
jay took a deep breath before tucking strings of my hair and fixing me up. I slowly calmed down as he traced patterns in my cheek and held me in his arms.
"you are a great idol haseul. let the criticism only motivate you to be greater than you are now, not let you down. I know being an idol isn't easy but let's just have fun with it too right?"
haseul nodded and began to fall asleep, 'I will be better for my fans, my family, my friends, jay and myself.'
"I remember when I was a trainee, I had big expectations of being an idol. it seemed so glamorous and fun from the outside but when I finally debuted, I finally got to face the real world. it's sad how even younger people than me have to face it too, maybe we need a little warning also." and with that, jay went into the dream world. maybe the dream world will be better than the real one."
