Tommy had given up on trying to get the food out. It was hopeless without power and it's just a waste of energy.
Energy that he wouldn't have much of if he couldn't figure out something for food.
As he stood back up, he considered just eating random plants and just hope he doesn't die, but decides against it. Tommy had survived a space ship crash and he wasn't planning to die from eating a wrong berry.
There wasn't any smoke in the area of the ship he was in, so he assumed he would probably have at least some time before the fire reached this area, if it was even still spreading. Maybe Tommy could try to find supply storage rooms, maybe there would be back up food.
But what if whatever was in the ship found him before he could find anything useful?
Tommy shuddered at the thought of something else, something dangerous, was on the ship with him. Although, there was also the possibility it was an alien bunny or something.
I mean, it's not probable, but it's possible.
Tommy peaked around the edge of the doorway, scanning the hallway to see if there was anything. The hallway was rather dark, just a couple of small holes in the ceiling that casted small streams of of daylight through the space. This meant he couldn't see to either end of the hallway.
Great.
Taking a deep breath, Tommy sprinted suddenly, in the direction he hadn't originally come from. After he was certain he didn't hear anything except for the echo of his own foot steps, he slowed to a walk, breathing heavily. He may have been selected for a space mission, but raffles don't exactly take into account the participants athletic abilities.
Tommy slightly regretted the sudden sprint, pain stabbing his leg where the cut was, but he also tried to convince himself the ends justified the means.
Tommy's leg may be killing him but at least he wasn't being eaten by an alien rabbit.

If Wilbur could fly like Phil, he would have done so to get back to his crew faster. It had taken him roughly 10 minutes to find his way back to the hole he had entered through.
Wilbur most definitely hadn't lost his way in the crash multiple times.
Definitely not.
The phantom skidded to a halt as he slid out of the hole, yelling out, "PHIL, YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT I FOUND!"
A head popped out from behind a large crate that Wilbur assumes has been brought from their ship to help better identify the ship.
"YOU LITTLE SHIT, WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT GOING INTO CRASHES?" The familiar elytrian squawked.
A flap of wings later, the angry winged man stood in front of Wilbur.
"The wreak could be unstable," Phil began to rant.
"Look, Phil I-" Wilbur tried to explain.
"SHUT! It could have collapsed on you Will! We don't even know what species this ship belongs to yet, what if they were hostile?" Phil scolded.
Philza could really be such a dad some times.
"Phil, let me explain before you get too angry-" Wilbur tried to reason with him.
"Too late mate, I'm already pissed. You broke one of the incident team rules, I-"
"Phil, I think there's a kid in there. I didn't see signs of anything else surviving," Wilbur rushed out on a single breath.
"WHAT?"
"Also, all of their food seems to be trapped behind a mechanized door-"
"SLOW DOWN, you left a kid on there? After you saw all the food was locked up?" Phil's scolding changed directions
Wilbur realized that his reasoning sounded really bad at the moment but he continued on.
"I didn't recognize their species, and there were absolutely terrified when they had just heard my footsteps. I was afraid I would give the poor kid a heart attack if I showed myself suddenly." He tried to explain.
"So what do you propose we do if their so skittish Will?" Phil asked, obviously still trying to be mad but his worry for the child apparently still in the wreck was overshadowing it.
"Uh, well..." Wilbur rethought over his initial plan. This was the best option, surely. The kid would probably panic any way they try to help but this was probably the best way. "They look most similar to you, without feathers or wings, so I thought you would have the most luck getting through to them without them absolutely losing it."
Phil sighed, "Would it be safe to assume that their language wasn't in the translation library ?"
Will shook his head. Phil turned to Techno, who was just coming over the ridge created by the crash with a rather large crate on his arms.
"Mate, could you grab the AI Language Learner from storage? Sounds like we're gonna need it." Phil explained to the piglin, who didn't look overly thrilled to have to make another trip.
"Alright. Oh, hey Wilbur. Guessing you found something in there?" Techno deadpanned.
"Yeah, apparently there's a child with no evidence yet of any other survivors." Phil explained in short what Will had told him.
"Ah, do we know what species it is? Er, well I guess we wouldn't need the Learner if we did." Techno mused.
"Yeah, they look similar to Phil, bipedal, kinda peachy skin, actually very similar hair and eyes. Pretty much the main difference is they don't have feathers and wings." Wilbur rambled.
"So basically a lamer version of Phil?"
"Don't be mean mate," Phil scolded, though he couldn't quite mask a laugh.
"Well, I'll be back," Technoblade gave a half-hearted wave as he climbed back out of the crater, making his way to their ship.

Tommy was finding quite hard to ignore the feeling of dread that was building in his stomach. There hadn't been any signs of anything else in the ship since the footsteps but Tommy was still nervous. Reasonably so in his opinion.
Maybe it had left the ship?
The S.M.P.C. couldn't have been very interesting for an alien bunny, it wasn't really that interesting for Tommy either. Besides the fact it held the materials he would need to survive but y'know.
Tommy glanced in each open doorway he passed, a surprising amount of them being empty and even more sealed closed due to the absence of power. He did actually find a storage room but it only had mechanical bits and bobs that might as well have been alien technology to Tommy. He had left that room pretty quickly.
He felt that he had been walking for hours (although he knew it couldn't have been more than half an hour). Tommy was really starting to get nervous. He hadn't found anything useful since the medical supplies and his leg was killing him.
Not literally of course but it hurt a lot.
Tommy began to think. There were so many doors sealed close, so chances are, if there was any spare food, it was in one of those rooms. The energy and adrenaline Tommy had had initially had nearly faded. He was tired. He knew he couldn't stop now, there was a chance there was something still on the ship, along with the possibility of the fire still spreading. He needed to find resources.
But he just wanted to sleep, surely a short nap wouldn't hurt.
He had stumbled upon the resident rooms and one was open. The bed was inviting.
Tommy collapsed onto the bed, his eyes heavy.
He was already sleep by the time a new set of footsteps was in hearing distance.
