The kid had been under the bed for over 3 hours and Phil had barely moved from his position of sitting at the edge aside from small shifting to get more comfortable. Techno and Wilbur were completely done with this for completely different reasons.

Techno was both concerned and frustrated that Phil had already clocked the kid as a frightened nestling in need of care when literally all the thing had done was run from and scream at them.

Wilbur had long since realized that Phil's method would not be working any time soon. Phil was partially right in his conclusion that they were frightened, except, based on the kid's reaction to Will, he would hazard a guess that they were absolutely terrified.

Who would leave a place they believe is safe when they're so scared?

Despite their differences in reasoning, the duo manage to finally convince Phil that his efforts weren't currently having an effect and that he should take a break. Granted it took far longer than reasonable, but they managed.

Phil had insisted on leaving the Language Learner in the room with the kid (not that he had to argue much as Wilbur had also wanted to do this).

"I'm just saying, when I'm nervous, I talk to myself. Who's to say it's not the same for the ne-kid?" Phil reasoned as the trio sat at their table, waiting for any sign anything had changed with the new addition to the ship (either from the camera in the room or the vitals sensors that would tell them if they fell asleep).

"Phil...we've already left the Learner in there, you don't need to keep justifying yourself," Techno grumbled.

"Well you two keep accusing me of things so I feel the need to defend myself," Phil huffed, arms folded across his chest.

Wilbur smirked teasingly, "Well, maybe if you weren't get your feathers all ruffled for a kid that resembles an eyltrian nestling, or maybe it's the fact you were literally using parental chirps-"

"Shut!"

Wilbur cackled as Phil didn't hesitate to wack him with a wing. Techno just sighed, his face in his hands. He didn't understand how his crew mates were so relaxed about the fact that they had an adolescent...whatever in the universe it was, on their ship. They didn't know anything about them. Maybe they came from some sort of tightly knit warrior race that would hunt them down for having their kid, even if they were rescuing it.

Even Techno was only stopped from spinning more scenarios about how this could all go wrong by Wilbur practically shouting something.

"Oh shit! They came out from under the bed!"

Techno was able to grab Phil's arm before he went instinctively to check on the kid in person.

"Phil, you're just gonna scare 'em back under, sit down," Techno explained the obvious, which apparently wasn't so obvious to an elytrain with a strong case of bird-brain.

Tommy didn't know how how long he had been cramped under the bed. The bird guy had left a little while ago and Tommy wasn't sure if they were planning on coming back .

Tommy wasn't stupid, but he did get bored easily. Besides, none of the aliens were in the room and he would probably be able to get back into his hidey hole before they were able to get him.

Anyway, the room was very boring. It was pretty much empty aside for a chair and the bed. Tommy tried to open the door but it was locked (he expected that). After a couple of minutes, Tommy had just ended up lying on the floor. They couldn't have even forgotten some dumb alien gadget in here? Unbelievable.

Tommy was very tempted to just start screaming but settled for shouting strings of curse words and insults.

"THIS IS WHY YOU'LL NEVER GET ANY ALIEN WOMEN, I'LL GET THEM BECAUSE WOMEN, EVEN ALIEN WOMEN JUST FLOCK TO ME AND YOU'RE A BUNCH OF BITCHES WITH NO STYLE!"

Seriously, aren't the weird aliens supposed to leave something for the protagonist to work with? Like really, do they expect him to just sit here and be happy with it?

"YOU'RE ALL A BUNCH OF PUSSYS, SCARED OF THE GREAT TOMMYINNIT! I COULD TAKE YOU ALL IN A FIGHT AND WIN, THEN YOU'LL GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY AND LAME FUCKING ALIEN TECH AND I'LL USE IT TO WOO LADIES!"

This was it, Tommy was finally truly going feral. Any reasonable person would probably be happy being left alone by the aliens, but not Tommy. He was simply too big a man.

"...WOMEN.......BUNCH..NO!....AND.......LAME....IT TO....!"
The translator struggled, obviously trying it's hardest to translate what the fuck the kid was saying.

"What in stars are they on about?" Wilbur asked, completely confused.

Techno met his puzzled gaze, "I don't think I want to know..."
