Damola had been busy with the hotel inspection, completely oblivious to the situation at home.

He had gone along with Fauza to visit all the branches in Lagos for the sole purpose of veiwing the extent of the damages caused by the fire and ensuring that the renovations were underway at the Victoria Island branch as well as the Lekki Phase I branch. They were his top two money magnets after all, which meant that he couldn't risk being out of business for much longer.

The duo had successfully checked three hotels so far and were currently on their way to the Victoria Island branch. Damola got there in record time and was greeted by the sullen looking manager. With no time to waste, he jumped right into business.

"What triggered the fire here," The CEO inquired, turning to face the manager with narrowed eyes.

"Sir, the firemen said it was from Room 346. They suggested that the occupant forgot to turn the stove off after cooking. Although, when we checked the database, the room appeared to be vacant but we are still investigating."

Damola gave a nod as he processed the piece of information that had just been shared. He couldn't help but think, "It must have been an inside job or someone was hired from the outside. Either way, I can smell sabotage from a mile away."

"Okay! For now, let's step up on security and send a copy of the employee files to my PA before the end of today. If the act was from within, it is your job to find out who is responsible. Is that clear?," Damola stated giving him a chilling stare.

"Yes Sir!," The manager, Mr. Leye replied looking at the floor.

"Okay then! I have a flight to catch Mr. Leye. Keep up the good work and do keep me in the loop."

"Yes Sir, I will Sir. Thank you for coming and have a nice day."

"You're welcome and you too," Damola said before entering the car.

"Good afternoon Sir, where is our next destination," Dapo, the driver asked.

"The airport," Damola replied curtly before turning to look out the window, taking in the beautiful scenery as the car zoomed past them.

"Sir, are we spending the night in Port Harcourt? Or are we coming back straight away?," Fauza asked.

"Yes, we are coming back to Lagos immediately, all things being equal. Let's just hope that the damage is not too bad"

"Yes let's hope so Sir," the young lady replied.

The trip from the hotel to the airport ended up being exceptionally long. What was known to be a ten minutes drive turned out to be forty minutes, all thanks to the deadly Lagos traffic.
They finally reached the airport where they boarded the helicopter and in no time were enroute to Port Harcourt.

It took them roughly an hour to reach PH, where they had a car waiting to take them to the hotel. On arrival at the site of the fire outbreak, Damola took out his phone to take pictures when he noticed he had almost 20 missed calls.

"That can only mean something very bad has happened," he thought.

He saw 'Mother in-law' flash at the top of the screen and picked almost immediately. Truth be told, his heart skipped a beat and not in a good way.

"E Káàsán Ma"

"E Káàsán my son. Something happened fabjajavbjs gahsjks ...," the sad woman began but her words became muffled almost as soon as she started, possibly due to the bad network.

"Ema gbinu Ma,  I'm finding it difficult to hear you. Can you come again"

"Dfhjjkk Bunmi afgjkkiu hospital sfhjjk dghjj please come!," she said again before the line went dead.
