"NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! YOU STOLE MY FLAG MOTHERFUCKER!" Violet raged, chucking the Xbox controller at Jai.

He flinched once it hit his arm. "Don't hate the player, hate the game," he preached.

"I hate both," Violet retorted.

Jai giggled, resulting in me and Beau joining him. Jai and Violet were sitting on the ground in front of the TV. Beau and I were sitting on the couches on our laptops, tweeting and following fans.

"Rematch," Violet demanded while Jai shook his head grinning and restarted the game.

We had spent a week like this. Go to the beach, go back to Skip's place, play Xbox. Jai and Violet became like brother and sister the way the constantly bickered. They argued over every video game they played, from six until midnight - some nights - while Beau and I watched in amusement.

We had hardly seen Skip. Him and Alice would disappear for days then come back for five minutes and disappear again. They played the typical roles of lovesick teenagers. We all were incredibly happy for them but we weren't having the same fun as we were as a whole and I could tell Violet missed her best friend. There were moments when she'd feel a bit sad about it but Beau, Jai and I always tried our best to cheer her up as soon as she felt that way.

There were just the five of us that week, including Steven. Daniel's parents refused to sacrifice their summer looking after five wild teenagers so they called on Daniel's brother instead. James didn't have food poisoning; he had some contagious stomach bug and ended up having to leave his summer with us and go home. We were all shattered when he left and surprisingly, I took it the worst. But - Violet was there and I poured my heart out and she just listened. I can't even describe how good that felt.

"You killed me?!" Jai proclaimed, baffled.

Violet just smiled at him, happy she got her revenge. I looked back to my laptop and saw the time, it was almost midnight. A sudden bang hit against the shutter windows. We all looked out into the pitch black night and found the bang to be a tree, meddled with by wind. There was a storm outside.

"Maybe it'll be best if you stayed the night again," I suggested.

Violet hummed in agreement and pulled out her phone.

"Yaaallow," I softly heard Michael answer as she was leaning against the couch I was sitting on.

"Please don't say that again, ever."

I held in a chuckle and Michael laughed, "What's happening sweetheart?"

"There's a storm outside so I think I'm just going to stay the night at Daniel's again," Violet explained. "And Alice too!" She quickly added, forgetting she was covering for her.

"Okay, I could talk to her?"

"Um, she actually just fell asleep."

"Oh, better not wake her then," he said. "Just tell her that her dad says hi and he misses her, okay?"

"Okay," Violet squeaked, guilt eating her up.

"Bye sweetheart," and he hung up.

Beau stretched and yawned. "Time for bed?" Violet asked.

He nodded and pushed himself up from the couch. Jai and I followed by turning off the Xbox and shutting down laptops. I watched Violet walk down the hallway and grab some blankets and a pillow out of the linen cupboard. She closed the cupboard and found Steven waiting behind it. She jumped and then hit him in the arm.
