Violet

I made a pouch in my skirt and cradled the tiny mushrooms in it as I picked them. I had ignored Luke's better judgment and his efforts to stop me had cut short, which surprised me. I slowly stood up with the mushrooms in my skirt and I peeked a look at Luke. He was scratching the back of his head, his expression, indecisive. I smirked at him, reassuring him I knew what I was doing. But being honest with myself, I had no idea what I was doing. Was I really going to consume these? Did I really believe the others would too? None of them are stupid, but neither am I. So why was I still cradling the drug, taking it back to camp?

I noticed, having held my skirt up, that Luke had a perfect view of my white lacy panties. And I knew he had purposely continued to follow me from behind because of it. Every time I'd turn to him I caught his eyes in the exact spot, I would smile and his cheeks would turn a darker shade of red. To be honest didn't really care, it was only Luke and my mind was racing of too many other thoughts for me to focus on my shame.

We stayed completely quiet as we tried to find our way back to camp, at one point I was sure we'd be lost until morning, since Beau and I couldn't find a clear path back to camp even in the daylight. But we'd luckily heard Skip's squeaky laugh in the distance and it reassured us we were on the right track. The luminescent light from our campfire had guided Luke and I completely out of the forest. As soon as I burst out of the trees, Alice had hurriedly made her way over to me.

"Oh my god Violet you missed it! Beau nearly killed us all!" Alice informed us.

I smiled at her, then walked passed her. I stopped near the fire and kneeled down, emptying my skirt of the shrooms. I picked one up and examined it closer, the fire granting me better vision. They were definitely the right ones, not poisonous. Well, not as poisonous as others, if we were to completely define the word. I had looked around to see no one had disturbed me, yet. Alice was talking to Luke, Beau and Daniel were laughing amongst themselves and Jai; had been watching me and began walking towards me. As he passed Beau and Daniel they both had noticed me.

"We were wondering where yous' gone," Daniel pondered while following Jai around the fire.

Jai had spotted them first. He made intense eye contact with me afterwards, his eyebrows questioning me as he scrunched them. Daniel saw them next and his smile faded. He stared at them until Beau nudged into his back.

"Oh my god, are those shrooms?" Beau questioned in a laugh.

I bit my lip and nodded slowly. He chuckled and shook his head, then rubbed his face. The group had formed a circle around me and they all faded into a long unsettling silence.

"So what do you suppose we do with these?" Jai said as stern as a parent.

Before I had a second to explain my intentions Alice was quick to rebuttal. "What do you think we're going to do with them?" She snapped.

I watched Alice smile at Jai before kneeling beside me. She picked up a mushroom and lifted it to her open mouth. I smiled at her, I was proud of her. Not proud because she was just as willing as I was to poison her own body, but proud that she stuck up for me. I was proud to call her my best friend because she'd always be by my side and she would never leave me outnumbered. The drug almost touched her tongue before Daniel pushed passed Jai and slapped it out of her hand.

"Alice don't eat that!" Daniel scolded.

"Why not?" Alice giggled.

"You'll die," Daniel and Jai said in unison.

"She might not die," Beau stated with a hint of uncertainty in his voice.

Daniel and Jai turned to look at him with betrayal smeared all over their faces.
