2. Roller-coasters, Teacups and Promised Trouble

Violet

Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. My heart felt like it was skipping beats and I cringed at what was happening in front of me. I just sat on the sand covered wood, with my hands covering my mouth. My eyes burned as I watched Alice cling on Skip and he stumbled backward in shock. I glanced up at the rest of the boys, James, Beau, Jai and Luke. They were all there. I watched them pull same expression, wide eyed and mouth agape. I waited for the worst; I waited for the rage, their anger. We blew it.

Skip had soon lost his balance; he completely stumbled over and fell backwards on his butt, holding Alice in one arm. I finally found my senses and jumped up. I grabbed Alice with both hands and yanked her by her waist. I pulled as hard as I could, but she wasn't having it. She held onto Daniel tighter, squeezing his neck with her arms and wrapping her legs around his waist. I wasn't strong enough and soon lost my footing and fell on top of them both.

"ALICE! GET THE FUCK OFF HIM!" I screamed at her.

Booming laughter erupted from around us. I grabbed hold of her again, she still wouldn't budge. It became harder to pull her off while I was on the ground but I couldn't trust her to let her go and stand up. I stumbled over Daniel's legs trying at different angles. The laughter got unbelievably loud and I snapped my head up.

The boys were doubling over in laughter and Jai had a camera strapped to his hand. A smug smile was plastered on his face as he made eye contact with me, my heart melted and my head thumped. I felt my body temperature heighten and a rush of adrenaline pump through me.

I grabbed Alice one more time and finally ripped her away from Skip. I planted her on the other side of me and rested an arm on Skip's chest and another to block Alice. Alice froze as I gave her a cautious look. She looked around at the other boys then back at me and covered her face in embarrassment.

I looked at Daniel. His shirt was rolled up his stomach and he was leaning on his elbows. His face was all flustered and had bad sex hair. I frowned at his blatantly confused expression.

"Please don't file a restraining order against us!" I blurted.

He looked taken aback, but then let his goofy smile creep up his face.

"You girls are crazy," he said looking up at his fellow prankster friends and laughing with them.

I felt a hand on my back spread around my waist and hoist me up. I looked over my shoulder to again lock eyes with Jai. I dodged to the side a bit, he held his hands up in defence and I glanced at the camera strapped to one of them. I dodged in shock, not in defence, but he took it the wrong way.

Jai Brooks was standing right in front of me. He smiled his cheeky bottom toothed smile. I opened my mouth but nothing came out. Instead I made some weird choking noises and gasps. He furrowed his eyebrows at me but left a little smile on his face.

"Sorry I-" Was all I could say before hesitantly reaching out to him and firmly tapping him on the chest, then quickly retreating my hand from his person.

He was there, he was actually there.

"Okay?" He commented, confused at my actions.

I snapped out if it and quickly blurted, "I was just making sure you were real."

My face stayed wary, my chest raising and falling deeply. I was scared. Scared as fuck. Scared they thought me and Alice were psychos. We really had done it now. Both of us. We blew it.

"Naw, what a little cutie!" Beau proclaimed.

I snapped my head around to face Beau. They were all chuckling at me. James had his arm around Alice, he had helped her up and was rubbing her arm, reassuring her everything was fine. Alice's eyes were watering but she refused to cry, she kept both hands over her mouth. Daniel was up from the ground and standing on the opposite side of where Alice was standing, laughing the situation off.
