1. Bangles

The first time it happened was at the market on the way to Rampur. Prem saw an elderly woman with a basket of bangles and he felt obligated to purchase her whole stock so she can go home instead of suffering in the sun. Placing more than the required amount at her feet, Prem took the basket.

He now had a bunch of bangles and his mind wandered to his new fiancée who wears colourful shalwars and thought she would like having new bangles to match. walking through the stalls, he found Preeti and Sadna bhabi. Feeling too shy to give to her directly, he passed the basket to bhabi who gave it to Preeti as he left them to shop.

2. Flowers

Prem was driving Preeti, Sapna and Vinod. They were going to the nearby mall to watch a movie with a new actor who is the son of a well-known producer. The rest of the family decided to stay home and relax and told the" young kids" to go out and enjoy. While in traffic, there was a young boy going car to car at the stoplights to sell roses. Prem, empathetic as always, pulled out his wallet and lowered the window to call over the boy. Asking the price of all the roses and paying some more, Prem bid the boy a safe journey home. Turning to his wife, he gave her the bunch of roses which she accepted with thanks and a burning blush.

" Wah!, Prem bhaiya, for someone who never had relationships, you surely know the way to a woman's heart ". Vinod said without thinking much, when his own wife turned to him with a arched brow and asked " Oh! and you had relationships to learn your way? ".

"Sapna darling, it's not like that, I was just saying-",

Prem and Preeti shared a look as the younger couple continued to bicker and tease each other. when the light changed, Prem held Preeti's hand after changing gears and they continued on their way.

3. Shoes

Prem was out doing some errands when he saw a store selling scrubs and medical wear advertising a shoe for doctors non-slip and ergonomic suitable for the long hours doctors spend on their feet. There was a light blue shoe that made Prem think of Preeti. His wife loved blue and purple the most and had many outfits in those colours, he was sure Preeti would like having shoes in her favorite color to work. Entering the store, he asked clerk for the shoe in
Preeti's size and also bought another in white so Preeti can have a back up. Satisfied with his purchases, he decided to head home. Entering the home, he greeted everyone and saw Preeti on the couch. Going up to her, he sat beside her and gave her the bag. Watching as she opened the boxes, he saw her delight at the new shoes and received a radiant
smile and a shy hug for his efforts. Prem felt very proud of himself when he saw his wife leaving for work in her new blue shoes the next day.

4. Books

Prem was browsing the book store looking for new material to read. He likes reading to relax after work and tends to buy 2-3 books each month. After selecting a couple books from the non-fiction section for himself, he went towards the adventure section in fictional. The new instalment of a series Preeti reads recently came out so he got that for her as well as a recommended mystery novel that he thought she would enjoy. He made his purchases and got in his car. It was almost 6pm so Preeti would be finishing her shift for today soon, so he drove towards the hospital. Parking in direct view of the entrance, Prem took out one of his new books to take with him, and exited the car to sit and wait on the bench near the exit. After about 10

minutes, he heard chatter as some people began to leave, his wife amongst them. He stood up and when preeti saw him, she waved goodbye to her colleagues and walked towards him.

"Hi!," She greeted with a smile and a hug" I didn't know you were coming to pick me up, did you wait very long? "." No, I just came and I was nearby so I told the driver that I'll come get you."

Pulling away from the hug, Prem took her bag and his book in one hand and Preeti's hand in his other as he began leading her to the car. He opened her door for her and then placed their stuff in the back and took out the bag with the two books he got for Preeti. He got in his seat and handed her the bag." For you ". Preeti took out the books and gasped with delight. She leaned over and kissed his cheek and told him thank you and that she loved them. Satisfied that he made his wife happy, they made their way home, his free hand joined with hers over the center console.

5. Cherries.

"Prem beta, can you stop in the grocery on your way home and pick up some milk please." "Okay, mummy, I'll see you in a little bit."

Entering the grocery, Prem took a small basket and went towards the diary section to get the required item and got 2 cartons just in case. walking towards the checkout, he saw containers of cherries in the fruit section. He knew that Preeti loved cherries, so he got 2 containers of those too before paying and going home. He went directly to the kitchen and greeted his mother and gave her the bag. He took one of the cherry containers and rinsed a few in a bowl and took it

out to look for his wife. He found her eating with Vinod and Sapna keeping her company. He went towards her and placed the bowl near her plate. She murmured a quiet thank you to him, face red as the cherries due to the attention of Vinod and Sapna. He chuckled at her shyness, before leaving to freshen up before eating dinner.

+1 Tiffin.

Prem was notorious for skipping lunch, once he got caught up in work, he would forget to go to the company cafe and miss the lunch service. His brothers and his mother frequently lectured him about it and yet he still forgot most times. So Preeti decided to take things into her own hands one day when she was at the shopping mall with her sisters-in- law. She saw matching tiffin sets and immediately bought them. Preeti often meal prepped for herself because she preferred to plan her own meals rather than eat the cafe food but Prem always said his cafe served meals he liked so she never did for him. But having enough of him jeopardizing his health by not eating, she knew if she made it for him, he wouldn't let his food go to waste.

The next week, she prepared two portions of her lunch and packed it into the matching bag set. Placing a note for Prem inside his, she personally handed it to him with his briefcase before leaving for her shift at the hospital. When time for lunch, Prem opened the bag to eat his meal.

" I made it with love, eat every bite!, love you ♥ -Preeti"
