Prem and Preeti(HSSH one shots )

OLD INSECURITIES

Preeti was never sure how Prem felt about her before their engagement and marriage. He was always very good at keeping his emotions in check , everyone knew how she felt and they often made fun of her about it. She never told anyone how hurt and humiliated she felt by their teasing instead she just smiled and braved her way through it. She always had that insecurity that Prem would return from America with another girl who he would be in love with and who he knew after several years in college. Then her heart would have been broken ,all her childish dreams would never become a reality. But she never let those emotions show, however it seemed that it was captured in a photograph forever that peaked her husband's interest while browsing through the family albums. She remembered that moment, it was Prem's second year abroad and he was about to return home and Vinod was teasing her that his older brother was quite a catch and most likely found a girl and he did say he had some big news to tell us. In that moment of teasing , all of Preeti's suppressed emotions surfaced and was caught in one of Anand's photos.

Prem saw the distress and hurt in his wife's eyes in the picture and inquired what was wrong especially since everyone seemed so happy. She attempted to brush off his question and retreat to the other side of the room. Taking the picture, he went to her and held up the picture , asking again what was wrong, this time his voice softer this time. He saw the discomfort in her eyes and almost decided to forget about the matter but the sadness her eyes had in the picture bothered him to much. He pressed a kiss to her forehead ,asking her one last time what was wrong. He listened quietly as she related all her  past insecurities to him. He was quite shocked about what she had to say but he understood why she felt that way. He was always very shy and private about his feelings towards her so he got why she may have thought he did not share the same feelings. He always knew how she felt and always had the security of her always being there but she had neither and that pained him.

After she had told him everything, he held her to his chest and addressed all of her insecurities. It was a bit too late but it was the least he could do. He told about the photograph he had of her in his dorm room and all the teasing he had to endure because of it. He told her about the moment he realised he was in love with her and of everything he knew about her from before their engagement like her favorite type of book to the cravings she always had during her cycle. He told her that he could never fall in love with anyone else because they didn't have that sparkle in their eyes anytime they saw him, they didn't share the same passion to help others, they didn't have a blush that made his heart skip a beat and a smile that brightened his day come rain or shine. They weren't her, his one true love. He lifted her face and stared into her eyes and stated with absolute confidence his unwavering love for her and the fact that he fell more in love with her every passing second and she would always be the one person who held his heart.

Preeti heart swelled with emotion at his words and her cheeks were brightly coloured. She took his hand into hers and decided that from now on they will never hide their feelings from one another so that such insecurity will not resurface.

Bringing their interlocked hands to his lips, he placed a gentle kiss on preeti hand and said that he agreed to their decision.

With a smile on her face, preeti said that she was feeling sleepy, so they got ready for bed. When they were safely under the blankets , prem pulled his wife towards his and kissed on the nose said " I love you". Preeti smiled at him and pecked him on the cheek and said that she loved him too.

A/N

I apologise for not updating often. I hate it when authors have a book and never update it even though you can see their account is active but honestly I have no inspiration for new one shots. This one was written since January and i never knew how to end it and even now i am unsatisfied with it. But it is all that i have. I re watched HSSH the other day but i am coming up blank. Also i have some really important exams coming up (my first one is in 2 days and i am currently procrastinating from doing work) so i wont be writing anything any time soon.

I apologise once again but unfortunately i won't be updating again until I get more inspiration for some stories.
