(Quackity's POV)

I had known going to Techno's was a risky move - Technoblade was known for betraying people that laid trust on him, but on the other hand, he was also known for his trust.

Proof was Philza, and Phil had held that truth. He was the only person that Techno had given the coordinates to his cabin, and he had not given us the compass to Techno's cabin: we had had to search and take it by force.

But I decided to trust the second fact and forget all the others. Only one thing about Techno remained in my mind: I could trust him.

Technoblade was my friend.

Techno led me to his cabin. Despite being here once before, on a mission that I had now realised to be downright cruel, I hadn't really noticed how beautiful it was.

There was a small stable for his horse, and upon seeing his horse again, my insides squirmed guiltily. Just weeks ago had I threatened to kill this very horse; threatening to kill this very horse had forced Techno to give himself up to us.

"Do you want to start fresh again?"

I realised that Techno had noticed me staring at his horse. I nodded hesitantly.

He walked over to his horse and soothingly whispered, gently stroking its head. It was unbelievable to see a man who was so ruthless in battle, being so gentle towards a harmless creature. My heart melted at the sight.

He soon brought his horse to me.

"Carl, this is Quackity; Quackity, this is Carl," he said, introducing us both.

"Hello... Carl," I said awkwardly. I could sense that Carl remembered me, because he whinnied and took a few steps back.

"Carl, Quackity might have done bad things in the past, but I promise, he won't hurt you," Techno said, staring into the horse's brown eyes.

I watched in amazement as Carl seemed to nod by tossing his head, and walked closer to me.

"You can touch him," Techno assured. I hesitantly went over and put my hand on Carl's head. The horse snorted.

"There you go; you're friends now!" said Techno; I could hear the happiness in his voice. He slowly ushered Carl into the stable again.

"Anyway, wanna come inside now?" he asked, as it was gradually getting darker. I could see the outline of a few zombies in the snowy expanses of the forest; not that an invincible warrior like Techno wouldn't be able to defeat them in a blink of an eye - I figured he just wasn't in the mood to fight mobs.

"Okay," I said, following him into his cabin.

His cabin looked stunning from the inside as well; there were item frames showing off his weapons, and many chests lined the walls. Torches hung on the walls and there were a few furnaces with an auto-smelter and a crafting table in the corner.

His crown had been hung on a peg next to the open window; I assumed that was where his cape was hung as well, as he was wearing it at the moment.

"Woah, this is so fucking amazing!" I said, and it truly was. "Did you build all of this yourself?"

"Well, not all of it; Philza helped me with the underground bit," he said, his ears perking up and turning red at the compliment.

"Underground? Oh my god... This is amazing!"

There was an entire underground cellar with more chests and a rail system. There were many auto-smelters, and it seemed like a farm. I opened a chest, and expected to see some netherite and diamond supplies, but instead I saw...

Potatoes.

There were tons of potatoes in all the chests. I fought to keep a straight face as I turned to Techno and asked, "Uh... Techno, what do you do with all these, these potatoes?"

"Oh, well I farm potatoes and bake some to eat, but I take the rest to Phil so he can sell them to people. The people who buy them the most are Sapnap, George and Skeppy," he said, and his cheeks noticeably became redder.

"Oh... That's where they get all their potatoes from," I said, now realising where all the potatoes Skeppy, George and Sapnap had got to prank the entire server with.

I was broken from my thoughts as I heard the thud of footsteps on wood. I looked down to see what had made such a noise and saw Techno's leather boots.

He walked over to the chests and picked out a blue dye. I was confused, but didn't ask. He pulled out 3 wool blocks alongside 3 spruce planks and went over to the crafting table. He crafted a blue bed and laid it next to his with a block of space between both the beds.

"Here you go," he said, indicating the bed next to him.

"Thanks Techno!" I said happily, realising what he was doing.

"No prob, here take this," he said, reaching into the furnace next to him and tossing me a baked potato, while taking one for himself.

"Thanks for everything," I said, graciously, and I really meant it. He had let me stay with him, knowing that Bad and the others would come hunting me down. I hadn't thought he would help me.

"Don't sweat it. Well, tomorrow we have to clear out the crops and replant the potatoes; after that we can plan the demise of the Eggpire," Techno said, rubbing his hands together.

"Oh, don't worry, I don't only live on potatoes," he added, laughing as he saw the look on my face. Maybe he was used to it, but I definitely wasn't going to live eating only potatoes for the rest of my life.

I nodded, smiling, and walked over to my bed. I watched as Techno took off his cape, hanging it onto the peg where his crown was.

"Goodnight Quackity," Techno said, closing the large window in front of his desk and extinguishing the torches on either side of it.

I stared at the ceiling, and after a minute, answered.

"Goodnight Technoblade."

Lol I couldn't think of a way to end this chapter; it wasn't very important to the storyline - sorry if it was a bit too short!

I know I'm writing a Quacknoblade story, but I also ship DNF yk, so if you haven't read flowers from 1970 then I highly recommend it if you like DNF  - Its by ast0nimika on wattpad. You should watch the MV of it, I've put it on the header.
