Everything around me suddenly felt real again everything hurt once more I felt a heavy blanket on me providing warmth and I felt someone's hand holding mine and I felt my eyes slowly flutter open to see phill standing in the corner of the room watching over me
"Welcome back Kora" he spoke and I gave him a small smile and looked down to see ash holding my hand tight with her head resting on the side of the bed asleep "she wouldn't leave your side so I let her stay in here I hope that's ok" i whispered and I gave him a nod and he walked over and gave me a hug and I hugged back "I'm sorry phill I don't even know what happened" I went on before I heard him shushing me "you couldn't have known it's ok" he smiled and I gave ash's hand a squeeze "news went out that the kingdom was blown up with everyone inside instantly dying no one knows that the princess is alive" he whispered once again "I want her to be a normal girl not a princess who survived a fatal accident she's a child" I explained and /he nodded "I'm going to go make you some food and send someone up to see you" he told and I nodded as he walked out of the room
A couple of minutes later I heard a set of foot steps and saw Toby at the door and smiled widely at my younger brother who set the tray down and ran over engulfing me with a hug that I gave back to him combing the back of his hair as I hugged back
"I was so worried I thought I was alone but my hair never turned back to brown i knew and no one believed me" he cried as I looked over and saw ash stirring in her sleep "I'm sorry Toby I'm so sorry I put you through that" i whispered into his ear
"everything is the same as when you left you to know" he spoke sitting in the chair ash had been before phill took her to go get some food "really how's Will," I asked "he's well gone insane but still president he didn't believe me and had been mourning for three days they are hosting your funeral tomorrow" he spoke casually "well why don't we go see everyone today I wouldn't mind I'm kinda sick of this room" I added and his eyes lit up "really you might want to change through your old PJs are not exactly 'hey I'm alive' attire" he laughed and I gave him a smile before getting up onto my feet and went and looked in the mirror and saw amongst my pink hair a streak of white/silver I shrugged it off and walked out of the room and noticed that it was Toby and i's old home. before I went to my room I went over to where phill and ash was and asked if it was ok luckily they were ok with it
After I walked over to my old room and It looked the same the pictures I had left still here the posters and everything I wasn't and opened my closet to see a white t-shirt and a blue overall dress and quickly put it on and then braided my hair and walked downstairs and saw Toby waiting next to the front door and slipped on my shoes and we walked out of the house and I felt a hand snake into my own and I looked down and saw that it was Toby's and squeezed it as we continued walking
It didn't take long and before we knew it we were where the community house was it stood renovated but it looked nice and to the left, I saw a wheat farm and some working on it who looked a little familiar and I took a closer look and saw
"Kora" they questioned "George" I smiled and he ran over and gave me a huge hug I have a feeling I'm going to get a load of these today "we need to stop doing this" he spoke "doing was," I asked "reuniting" he added and I smiled and we pulled away and I gave his hair a quick ruffle after a bit we walked down the prime path and on the way we waved to new people who Toby told me about and we reached Tommy's dirt shack and right when we opened the gate Wilbur walked out with his arm around Tommy's shoulder
Tommy looked miserable and beaten up while Will looked clean and from where I was standing I could feel that the energy had changed with him but Tommy's miserable face turned to a bright smile when he looked at me and I saw him push wills arm off him and run over and I held my arms out for him and braced myself for Tommy's hug
I have always loved how clingy Tommy was even when he said it was Toby I tangled my hand with his long blond hair "you're so grown-up Tom's" I whispered and I felt him hug tighter put felt my shoulder grow damp and looked at Tommy to see a steady flow of tears streaming down his face
Oh right
They thought I was dead
"They said you were gone" Tommy cried and I just massaged his scalp "I'm right here and I promise not to leave" I whispered and pulled away to place my hands on his cheeks wiping away his new tears and placing my forehead on his "you can't do that to me ever again" he spoke and I nodded and we pulled apart when I got hugged by a much taller man who smelt of cigarettes and must my nose wrinkled at the new unpleasant sent but I embraced it and when I got to set down I looked to Tommy's house once again and there emerged a man with long pink hair
And small glasses
And the clothing my dad...
DAD
My body stopped at the sight when Toby put a hand on my shoulder "dad" he shouted and he turned to look at us
His features were soft and he looked much older but he looked just the same as when he was healthy I quickly made my way over and engulfed him in a hug which he accepted hugging me tightly "your not real" I whispered in disbelief "I can assure you I'm alive Kora my eldest daughter" he whispered back and I smiled to myself
The hole in my heart which had been sewn but never filled felt patched up perfectly at soon as my arms wrapped around my dad
He's finally back
"We need to catch up I would like to know how the last 6 years had been going" he spoke and I nodded and held an arm out for Toby to join and he did and I stood there holding my two favourite people in my arms
For how long will this last
How is my dad alive
Why do I feel like I'm being watched
As I looked to the right to look around still embracing my father and my younger brother I see far into the distance hiding in the trees
