At 16 Abby has been a Christian since she was ten. She has gotten into trouble at school by teachers for talking about Jesus and the bible at school.
One day after school some boys took her bible from her backpack.
“Please give me my bible” Abby asked politely the boy held it up out of her reach.
“Oh, I am sorry was this yours I only wanted to see what the big deal was about a dumb book”
He said mockingly as he dropped the bible onto the ground. “Hey” Abby protested as se went to pick it up, but she was pushed back on to the ground next to her bible.
“You really believe in that stuff its nothing but a bunch of old stories from thousands of years ago and a bunch of rules.” The boy sneered down at Abby.
“That stuff isn’t even real” another boy said laughing at her as they walked away.
After they left, she got up and got her bible praying for the boys as she went to the park to think she had been asked that many times before until now it hadn’t really bother her.
As she walked in the park, she started to think about what the boys said. She knew what she was taught at church and from her readings but after today doubt seemed to creep in her mind.
She did not want them to be right but what if they were right. “Can they be right about the bible is it really real.”
She thought of her family they were once Christians until they lost a family member now Abby was the only in her family who was a Christian.
Abby teared up a little she had never really doubted in anything like this before she always trusted in her faith and what she read at her bible studies.
The wind started to blow a little and I got a little cloudy, so she gathered her things and started home which was a short walk away.
